Quadra-Lift Air Suspension No longer Available

I had no idea that this would even be an issue so I was just trying g to forget about the jeep during the process, but my dealer called me and said it should be in this coming week, I saw this topic on here, looked up the build sticker and saw a $750 credit , promptly called them and told them I would not be buying the jeep…They are a great dealership, and are working to find one for me or order me a 2022 assuming they ship those complete….I love what they did with the new GCL but I’m paying a premium for a premium product and I want the features that make it such…I understand omitting small items to a degree but this is absolutely unacceptable….I’d much rather jeep not ship my vehicle and just wait…on top of that the $750 credit is a slap in the face imho, though to be honest even if it was a $3000 credit I wouldn’t want it either…..At this point, I might just wait for a 4xe assuming I can get that the same way in SR trim.
I 100% agree with you.

It sure ain't easy now.

A few days ago, I "secured" my next vehicle and literally went the extra mile in order to do so.

I'm living in the Tampa Bay area and bought my vehicle at a dealership in Greer, SC. I'll fly there in two weeks and drive it down. It's a GCL SR V6 with 2K miles on it and is currently driven by the GM.

It was basically one of two remaining SRs up for sale in a 500 mile radius with the light interior and all features (eLSD, Adaptive Suspension, Quadra Lift). Local dealer had one but was too expensive.

If I would have ordered one months ago just to find out that they took something out without notifying me, I would be REALLY pi**ed so I feel with you, guys...

Was it an order out or did you buy a dealer pre-ordered unit? If the dealer ordered it for you when did they do so? I have not seen a Summit Reserve V8 without Air Suspension and this makes me very nervous. I ordered my SR V8 in May. I will NOT accept it without the Air Suspension.
It was my order, I haven’t seen it happen yet either, until mine, but now I’m seeing that you can’t even order with it on any trim and I’ve started to see a few others pop up like mine as well.

Let me clarify before saying this that I don’t have any special insight into this situation of the QL being deleted on some trims but I work at a major manufacturer of systems so I understand well how the economics on this current market are working.

It is not far fetched to speculate that the real reason for the QL deletion is not only parts availability but most probably is about profitability and Price.

Here is my reasoning for this:
The only 2021 models that have kept the QL are Summit Reserves and V8’s.
What’s common about those? They have a hefty $3K charge for the option/package.
The SR package is mostly aesthetics which usually come with a great margin, sending the car to over $65K MSRP.
They probably get very good margin on a established design for the 5.7 Hemi at $3,295 price which allows them to absorb what is probably a substantial cost increase on the air suspension parts due to current market conditions and supply chain interruptions. Cost that cant be covered with the V6 Overland/Summit selling at $55K to $62K MSRP

I had my suspicions that profit was the real reason behind the deletion and yesterday with the launch of MY2022 orders I became more convinced about it.
The 2022 Overland and Summit V6’s no longer have in the ordering system the Required choice of deleting/credit for the QL. So air suspension is back!
So why is the deletion still required for 2021 and not 2022? The Overland and Summit have come now with a substantial $2-3K price increase to the base that helps them offset whatever cost increases they’ve had on the air suspension system.

Prove me wrong, happy to debate😁

You are correct, they actually put out a memo to the dealers saying they were prioritizing higher margin product with the QL, I saw it myself….weird times, but I understand it…now I wait impatiently for my SR V8 🤣

Are 2022 orders open now? Is there an option to order 4xe?

Is there a difference between Active-dampening and Semi-Active dampening with the QL?

I see semi-active dampening listed on my sticker (I do have QL) but remember reading the "full" active dampening was removed with the eLSD removal?

It seems the semi active vs active debate was just Jeep renaming the same system based on wanting to be sure they were accurate to the system functionality
