Jeep is looking at new buyers. They are not considering the long time Jeep owners. Also they are focusing on the new Grand Wagoner that could cost up to 110,000.00. And the Grand Cherokee. To many irons in the fire. Trying to just sell vehicles. Not selling what was promised in the June 7th press release. Now a Summit is just a Larado with fancy seats, so sad.
You can't find a Wrangler or Gladiator but there are a lot if GCL's around me. I guess Jeep wants to get them out there more than the others. The dealer by me must have 20 GCLs on the lot. Haven't moved.
Yesterday I checked two dealers in the Detroit Suburbs for their current GCL inventory . Both had well over 100 in stock !The dealer by me must have 20 GCLs on the lot. Haven't moved.
Been removed on all trims for now including summits and summit reserves!!Do we know if air suspension has been removed for 4x4 Overland with V8?
Are we thinking this is just temporary? I've been holding out for a 2022 SR V8 and also hoping they release a dark blue paint color. The overland I test drove with the air suspension/adaptive dampening was incredible. So I've gotta have it now. To take that away is literally crushing me. And makes me think I should jump on any V8 SR that I can find right now with those features.Been removed on all trims for now including summits and summit reserves!!
Yes I drove with and without and without feels like a totally different experience! Are we thinking this is just temporary? Temp due to chip shortageAre we thinking this is just temporary? I've been holding out for a 2022 SR V8 and also hoping they release a dark blue paint color. The question is, are those vehicles going to end up like the GCL where the launch production was stockpiled for 100% then they cut back options a few months in OR will the 2022 GCL have these items restored and this a temporary end of 2021 MY thingBut you can order a 2022 Grand Cherokee 2 row and get the air suspension and the eLSD. Looks like no chip shortage for the Grand Wagoneer or the Grand Cherokee 2 row.
It seems to be temporary. The question is, are those vehicles going to end up like the GCL where the launch production was stockpiled for 100% then they cut back options a few months in OR will the 2022 GCL have these items restored and this a temporary end of 2021 MY thing
Interesting, the summit reserve also has the eLSD added back.It seems to be temporary.
The problem is lack of transparency, they dont have to provide many details but be upfront and say features will be unavailable or that you will prioritize new models coming out.
They started deleting the Air Suspension around 8/19 in ALL V6's being shipped.
It seems V8's were not affected at any time.
I just found an in-transit V6 shipped 8/31, that seems to have the air suspension back.
So was it a 2 week issue? Is way more expensive for them to stop production waiting for parts than pissing off some people. Hopefully is that. It also means the delete can come back at any time.
Or maybe this single unit that I found means someone gets lucky.
Anyway, think about majority of the people buying these cars. They are not in this forum reading stuff like this. They will care little if Air Suspension is not available in the unit in front of them that they like. They will buy it.
The rest of us that do pay attention to these details will be frustrated, but we are the smaller crowd.
Overland HEMI from 8/19, includes Air Suspension
Overland HEMI from 8/24, includes Air Suspension
Overland V6 from 8/23, with Air Suspension Deleted
Summit Reserve V6 from 8/26, includes air Suspension
Overland V6 from 8/31, includes air Suspension
They are basically giving you back $55 for taking away $2500-$3000 worth of equipment. I am sure on the tail end when this vehicle is traded in sans Quadra Lift and Active Suspension, you will take a nice hit as well. I can just imagine a good lawyer salivating over a case like this. This is really bad.
I noted this in another post, they are basically taking off just $750 for the full Air suspension system.
But they add Tow for $695 and remove all of these other features that you mention.
Its too many things for a $60K vehicle.
