Pricing Announced for 2022 JGC WL74

I assumed that my '22 Summit Reserve would be about the same price as the '21 L Summit Reserve. Looks like that was pretty much where the pricing landed.

Also, interesting that it seems that the Overland with all the packages is more expensive (by around $200) than the Summit with the same packages. Any thoughts as to which one would be better, and which one would hold value better? My thought would be the Summit.

The Jeep build site for 2022 two-row still has no prices listed; where are you folks finding prices for WL-74?

That can't be accurate, there's a $4K Base price difference, check again.
By the way, you cant add the Off Road package for comparison, this one is only available for Overland.
The higher the trim, the more likely it would devaluate more in percentage.

Wow! A Summit Reserve equipped as I would order it comes out to $70,845. That is right up there in Genesis GV80 territory. If Stellantis wants to play at that price level they really need to do something about their perceived level of reliability. Perhaps offering a 4 year 50,000 mile bumper to bumper and extended powertrain warranty like the Genesis might bolster confidence in making such an expenditure on a GC.

I totally agree with the reliability comment. At these prices Jeep needs to do way better.
Not only that, the dealership experience needs to be different, like they are doing with the Wagoneer and what Audi, BMW have.

Regarding the Genesis, I don't think these vehicles are comparable at all. Only price is similar.

Yep, I see your point, but at the level of the Summit Reserve I think (for me) there are valid comparisons to be made. At this level Stellantis has made efforts to move up-market into at least the near-luxury realm although the quality of materials used are quite different than the Genesis. Both are unibody SUVs similar in size and price, both with high levels of tech and the availability of somewhat powerful engines. I have absolutely no intention of taking the vehicle off road. My desire for 4WD is to handle midwestern snow and both the GC and GV70 or GV80 will handle that just fine. For those who are concerned with true off road capabilities you are absolutely correct, and I agree that is an apples an oranges comparison, but given my criteria for selecting a vehicle (taking off road ability out of the equation) there is some basis for comparison (not for everyone maybe, but for me.) :)

I understand, for many here is not about only on the off road capability.
I initially was comparing the GCL to the Audi Q7 because of the price, especially if you are looking at the Summit Reserve. But they really don't compare, two different vehicles and capabilities.
To me the GV80 compares more to the BMW X5.
GV80 has room for 7 but only on the higher trim, and they really cramp the third row into the same wheelbase, so is not really a 3-row family vehicle.
Good luck on your search!

As a possible first time Jeep owner - on the previous GC was the limited available with the V8? Disappointed that if I want the V8 i have to go to Overland (Thou I am also considering the Trail Hawk) but really am curious about the 4XE and to see what pricing that will be and available Fed/State incentives will offset the costs. Seems the pricing is higher than I recall with the GC's of the past. Sure all new, new tech (good and bad) and the current market are driving some of the pricing.

My fully loaded 2017 Q7 Prestige was nearly $20k more than the Summit Reserve. On paper/pictures, they are fairly similarly appointed (except for third row, which you get for a few thousand more with the L version). Remains to be seen if the fit and finish, and ride quality will approach the Q7, and I think the Hemi will be a bit slower than the turbo 3.0l in the Q7, but clearly Jeep is trying to compare with these luxury SUVs on trim/tech/etc. Are they successful? Won't know at least for a couple months until I get my GC.
