Price Increases

Has anyone noticed the price increases on GCL's listed as "Being Built" on the jeep website?

I ordered a silver altitude w/ tow package on May 24th it is currently in the "frame" stage of production.

I am wondering if the MSRP will be what I was quoted back in may, or if it will reflect the updated pricing via "Being Built" Window Stickers.

Here is the difference:

Ordered in May
Base Price: $38,995
Package 22B (Altitude): $3,200
Silver Zynith: $345
Trailer Tow Package: $995
Destination: $1,695
Total MSRP: $45,230

Pricing According to data via "Being Built" Window Sticker

Base Price: $40,085
Package 22B (Altitude): $4,200
Silver Zynith: $395
Trailer Tow Package: $995 (shown as Prep Group @@695 but assuming the $995 would hold true )
Destination: $1,795
Total MSRP: $47,470

The dealer is checking for me this morning but I don't really believe a word they say at this point.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I noticed the Base price increase on Overland as soon as they started deleting the Air Suspension. They increased $500.
I have not been checking the Altitude but that is a substantial increase, $1,090 on the Base + $1000 for the Laredo package +100 more for Destination

Actually, the increase is worse, because Tow Prep Package doesn't include trailer hitch or wiring as I understand things. Tow Prep group is basically load leveling suspension and full size spare...

We ordered our GCL Altitude on Monday and this was my experience at dealerships here around Central Florida:

MSRP +/- $2,000
Me: That’s dumb, why are you charging me $2k for nothing?
Dealerships: “Market adjustment,” everybody’s doing it now.

Several other dealerships (all Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep) we’re doing the same on all new vehicles. Found what I wanted in transit to a dealership and had to order through them since someone had beaten me to the punch earlier that afternoon…build came back about $2k higher than the exact same build that was already in transit, the sales guy (who was very helpful, and also new there) asked the manager why and he was told they did in fact have an increase across the board by $1500-2000ish depending on what you’re ordering. Thankfully, they were happy to honor the original price….at least for now.

Long story short, MSRP went up and I’m interested to see how that conversation goes when the unit actually arrives at the dealership.

As a follow up to my original post, the window sticker for my order is available today (attached) and totals $47,470.

But I can build the exact same thing on the jeep website for $45,330.

Looks like I will be purchasing one off a lot w/o the tow package and hopefully jeep can work with me on getting a hitch installed. I will not be paying $2,240 more, just because they took 5 month to build it.

Anybody have any experience getting jeep to install the hitch and harness at cost or anything like that?

If you just do the hitch without the other tow package stuff, transmission cooler, suspension leveling, ect you only get like 3200lbs(verify?) tow capacity. But the dealer can install it for you several people have done it.

Just because “everyone’s doing it,” doesn’t make it right. Basically it’s just adding more cushion to where you negotiate back down to original msrp, which makes you feel better, as well as the dealer. Just tell them you’ll purchase elsewhere. Bought my GCL Limited with a non-inflated msrp of $57k for $52k at Friendship Jeep in Bristol, TN. Great people there too.
