Piano Black Fingerprints

Has anyone figured out a way to reduce the fingerprints/smudges that get all over the Piano black console plastic?

I have been looking for some coating or possibly even getting it vinyl wrapped in a matte carbon.

Thinking waxing myself, mines at dealership will try when it gets back, but yes I notice them and a bit of a pain to remove them.

Reading around online people say the same. Wax or Wrap.

I will try tomorrow after I get it back from tinting.

Which product did you use, any pics of how it looks?
I used Kamikaze Miyabi coat which I used in combination with Kamikaze Zipang on the exterior paint..I wouldn’t suggest using that unless you have some leftover like I did from my ceramic application, otherwise you could do a less expensive Ceramic such as Optimum Gloss Coat. Ill try to take pics later and post them up.

I took our altitude in for window tint and PPF at a local high end detailer. Xpel had precut templates for most of the center console. They were able to paint correct the piano black and place PPF over the cover on the wireless charger, where the gear shift is, and the cup holder section. Only thing they couldn’t apply PPF to is around the screen itself and the buttons up top. I would 100% recommend this if you can find a reputable shop to perform the work.

I purchased this cleaner/protector:

Used with a microfiber cloth on the piano black surfaces and the touch screen. It really has reduced the amount of fingerprints and dust. I recommend if you do not want to go the route of PFF.

The fingerprints are annoying. But I found one of those lens-cleaner type cloths included with the manual packet. Used it and it was good as new. If you care to save a few $$$ after splurging on a Summit R, just wipe it down once in a while.

What is the cost of the PPF?

This is highly dependent on the shop you go to. The install for the interior center console area for me was $250. I also had them do paint correction first which was $200, but that also included the exterior mirrors and pillars I had them do.

I did the same, have a little cleaning pad in my door with some cleaner my local car wash recommended. Been great, haven’t had to use it much other than dust now
