Performance in the snow

We just got a few inches here and I’m glad to say performance in the snow is pretty good. I was coming from a BMW X5 so I had some concerns that performance may not be as good. I do have snow tires on (as did the BMW).

Traction control (really stability control) doesn’t step in as quickly as it did in the BMW which allows for a fair bit more sliding around in the Jeep, but that is actually welcome for me because the BMW seemed to be to quick to step in. I’m not sure if stability/traction control can be 100% disabled as I could in the BMW. It was actually two separate controls one for traction and one for stability in he BMW. The Jeep only has a single button and it seems to be more or less just the stability control.

Vehicle is ‘21 Limited.

One trick I tried - and it worked incredibly well (with my older GC and with my A6) - over inflate your tires (in snow) by 2 or 3 pounds of pressure. More pressure, less rubber on the road (or on the snow), less rubber and more pounds per square inch of the vehicle weight penetrating the snow. I'm saying for me, the difference was "night-and-day". Of course - with no snow, go back to the manufacturer's recommendation. Just a thought...
