Ordering 22’s?

We want to order a Limited. After reading some of these posts, some people ordering are getting 21s and some 22s. Knowing this , I wanted to see what my dealer would say— I asked if orders placed would be 21 or 22. He said 22s wouldn’t be available for a few more months. So my question is what determines whether an order is a 21 or a 22? Location? Chance? Thanks in advance!

I highly doubt the 22s will have anything new for the Limited trim and there are quite a lot of 21 Limited available. There really isn't much sense in waiting for the 22s since the price will be much higher. Even in the current market, you should be able to find a good deal on a `21 Limited without much issue. Within a 250 radius of my area, there are almost 2000 Limiteds out there, so you really shouldn't have any troubles finding the one you want for the price you are willing to pay.

Limiteds are all over here too, but none with a tow package. We want that, the sunroof, and the bigger display screen.

I am looking at a similar decision: order a ‘22 overland vs buy a ‘21 that’s on the lot and has all the options we want. For whatever it may be worth, the dealer I have been in touch with said that although Advanced ProTech III package is an option on the ‘22 , Jeep can’t guarantee that the vehicle will ship with it. Same for QuadraLift (which is supposedly standard on ‘22 Overlands). Point being: placing an order involves some uncertainty about what you will get.

I started weeks ago shopping for an Overland or Summit. At first I could get prices on the 2022's. Now, not even the dealers can.
If you can find what you want in a 2021, buy it!

Just picked up a Limited on Thursday with the tow package . LOTS of inventory out there . Rebates , too, which you won't get on a 22. I was able to use $1500.00 off. 22's are 1200 more, plus you loose the rebates. A no brainer...
