Nav Screen at Sunset

So I've noticed that every time around sunset my auto headlamps come on but my Nav screen (esp. with Nav/Map on the display) stays at daytime brightness for far too long before switching to night/dark mode. It's actually blinding me for about 20 minutes or so before the Jeep realizes it's night time and switches the map/nav screen from white to black. It gets so bad that I have to exit my Nav/map screen and go to settings or media (which is a much darker screen).

Every other vehicle I've had switched the nav screen to night mode when the headlights came on (even in the rain/etc). Has anyone noticed this delay and/or know how to fix? I adjusted the Uconnect brightness settings from auto to manual and vice versa but at the end of the day, the screen brightness settings are fine, it's just taking way too long for it to auto switch into dark/night mode every night.

In my wife’s Rubicon I have to turn the dimmer down one notch and then the screen changes at the same time as the lights. Wonder if its the same for the GC L…

You talkin about the vertical wheel to the left of the steering column? If so, mines set right below the notch (where i always set)

I noticed this the other day too. Is seems that it on set time delay. Like around 7:30 or so. I noticed it yesterday when I was driving. It can be super stormy out and super dark at 3pm the lights will go in but the display will be full blast light mode.

I agree. After I turned the dimmer down one notch in my GCL, the screen started to adjust when the lights come on.

If you go to page 202 in the owners manual, it will tell you how to adjust your Uconnect brightness as the headlights go on/off.
I have it properly set to come on w/headlights but it doesnt until after a delay. And it makes even less sense because my windshield is tinted and so in the past my screen and my headlights would come on sooner than normal since the little eye is usually located on the dash somewhere.
