I will be demanding a replacement taillight tomorrow. The other side is fine. I won’t accept this at 3500 miles. They can replace it.

You should not have to demand to have it replaced. My dealership noticed it when the car was in for a leaking door seal and they replaced the tail lamp without me asking.

I haven't gotten moisture in mine but I did find the internal housing loose inside the right rear tail light by accident while drying it off after a wash. My hand bumped into the light and I heard a rattle, after a little investigating I found when I tapped the tail light the internal part would shake. Haven't taken it in yet but it should be a full replacement.

Well I stopped at the dealership today where I got the vehicle. Service employee said he would check availability. While I waited for him to check that out I went to talk with the salesman I got it from. Then the service advisor shows me what the taillight cost. I said why are we talking about price? He says well if it’s cracked inside it won’t be covered. I said let me be clear if I get a bill for the taillight corporate will be contacted and if not resolved by corporate I will no longer own an fca product. Less than 5000 miles on it and I had a list for them. The implied cost to me put me over the top. After I got home I talked to the salesman and apologized for getting heated and he said no the service employee was wrong. Guess we will see.

Am I alone in having mostly positive experiences at dealerships? Dealers get paid for the parts and labor, so they usually WANT to perform repairs, warranty or not.
