Manual 2nd Row Window Shades

I own a 2021 JGCL Limited with the bench seat, I really wanted the limited with Luxury package (Captain Chairs) but in December 2021 that wasn't available. I would of waited but my primary vehicle a 2021 GC Limited was totaled in an accident. I needed another vehicle as quickly as possibly and at the time no GC were available; but JGCL's were. I really do not care for the captain chairs, but having a baby in the back seat I really needed factory window shades. I did purchase suction cup shades, but they look awful. Is there a way to install factory manual 2nd row window shades? If anybody done it please chime in. If JEEP CARES can chime in also that would be awesome. I am really interested in that option.

Other than that the JGCL is an amazing family luxury vehicle, I love it. No issues, knock on wood.

Possible, yes it appears, but cost effective it is not. The door trim panel is different and I'm not sure if it comes with the sunshade. The door trim panel appears to be just over $500, plus the window surround interior molding with the hook to hold the sunshade up, which is only $23 roughly. So let's just say the sunshade does come with the door panel, you're already in for about $540 per door, plus labor. If the door trim panel doesn't include the sunshade, that adds another $200+ per side.

Have you looked into getting the back windows tinted even darker? Looks like it would be cheaper.

Agree with Riviera, I have looked into this kind of thing for other vehicles before, thinking It would be as simple as buying $500 in parts and just installing...but instead it usually requires you to change many parts on the door and on top of that each part is expensive, so it would be closer to the $2,000 or more ball park just because of all of the bits and pieces you would have to change.

I wish manufacturers made it easier to add on factory features later but they don’t.

I am in the same boat and purchased before the limited had that as an available option and I too really would like some kind of solution here.

Here is an out of the box suggestion.... I really am not trying to be funny or anything, but have you considered calling a junkyard to see if there are any totaled vehicles(may be way too soon for the GLC) that don't have damaged doors that they are willing to sell. could get lucky and have the same color and/or paint to match your vehicle. I am just suggesting this as I have no idea of how much they may charge and don't even know if it would be worth it. Maybe do a door swap kind of transaction. Really not a joke.

I don't think anyone thinks you're joking, just a complicated task. I'm all about going the extra mile to make something happen, and I'm not intending to deter you as much as just tell you what you'll run into. Ideally finding a door trim panel on ebay would be the best solution. Typically salvage yards don't "sell" the interior door trim panels, they simply sell doors with everything that's on them. I said "typically", because I'm sure there are some that do sell the door trim panel separate, I've just never ran into it. You should keep posting on your progress as it might make it easier for the next guy wanting to do this.

Thank you but yes I was referring to buying the whole door instead of the interior panel. would be easier to sway the whole thing. I never thought of ebay, but that might be an option as well.. Just to let you know, I am not the one who is asking the question so I can't provide you my progress.. I in fact ordered a 22 Summit without the sun shades. Never really used them.

Thank you everybody for all your input. I had to ask, but I know the cost for parts and labor are ridiculous. I am going to do what "O'Lander22"
suggested and tint darker. Again thank you all.
