Anyone know why the the wiring harness has been discontinued?
Why would someone get a tow hitch installed without a wiring harness?

Not discontinued. It is backordered. They are building them with the TOW ready package instead of the tow package. The harness can be installed later but at a premium $$$.

Thank you. Every dealer I speak to doesn’t have a clear answer. Do you know of any timeframe on when it will be able to be ordered?
I’m close to just going for an aftermarket one…

I have been calling around for a month the answer I have been getting end of February.

It's been out since October (when I started looking). I eventually went for the Hitch / wiring harness by etrailer since I needed my cargo carrier for a trip that I had planned in December. It worked great.

I may have to do the same. I also have been looking at the etrailer, which harness did you get?

The Harness looks way more expensive than the etrailer one. Any reason for that?

The hitch looks very similar to what they have on etrailer.

There’s 2 wiring harnesses on etrailer.com and towuniverse.com. A 4 pole and 7 pole. I ordered the 7 pole in case I want to add a brake controller later. That’s why this one is more expensive than the one you are probably looking at.

I finally got my hitch installed by the dealer after a month and a half of back and forth. Came home from work after my wife picked it up and found out they didn’t install the electrical harness at all. Called the dealer and they said it is a separate part and would order it. got them to cover it but that was a week ago. hopefully it won’t take another month and a half for the hookups.
