Land assist warning light

Howdy, I have a '21 GC-L and a lane assist warning came on just above the fuel gauge, yellow icon; and the lane assist is disable. Has anyone had experience with this issue? Thanks in advance!

I had the yellow light come on and the button to disable ALM was flashing above the radio. It reset after I turned the car off, dealer could not determine the cause of what happened. It has happened twice in 4000 miles and I don't think it's anything to get excited about.

I have a few a question: Were you using the lane assist with your hands off the wheel when the light came on? If so, FCA thought you were driving a little too long without your hands on the wheel. If you were not and were driving in a straight line, it may have thought you were driving without your hands on the wheel. This has happened to me a few times. If this did happen, if you maneuver the steering wheel gently from right to left (or vice versa), it (the warning light) should have gone away. If this wasn't your condition, then I'm out of suggestions. Anyway, hope this helps...

No, I always keep my hands on the steering wheel.
Here is an update: that lane assist management warning somehow disappeared without interventions. I do not why that warning came on only for about half a day. But now everything seems to be back to normal - so far.

Sometimes the sensors get blocked (ie with snow/dirt). But these cars are having so many random electrical problems (mine is absolutely horrible, dozens of issues), so I'd say it's likely just another glitch. I would report the incident to the dealer, and take a video of it next time so you can prove it.

Sometimes - even with your hands on the wheel - if you are driving in a straight line (for example, highway driving), the car may think you are driving hands free and will give you a warning. This has happened to me. With my GCL and with my CLE450.

Remember that ALM (active lane management) is not the same as lane assist where you have to have hands on wheel.

A lot of people get confused between the technologies, and it changes again for 2022...

From this article

What is Jeep Active Driving Assist? - Find the best Jeep deals!

Strengthening the symbiotic relationship between the driver, vehicle, and road, Active Driving Assist and Hands-free Active Driving Assist enhance confidence and comfort on the highway with automated steering, acceleration, and braking support.

Jeep Active Driving Assist Display

Active Driving Assist arrives first, when the new Grand Cherokee L goes on sale as a 2021 model. This technology improves hands-on-wheel, eyes-on-road driving with adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assistance to support the driver in guiding the vehicle on highways.

In 2022, Jeep plans to introduce Hands-free Active Driving Assist for all 2022 Grand Cherokee models. This system adds a hands-free driving function for certain limited-access highways. It works similar to Cadillac Super Cruise, allowing miles and miles of hands-free driving as long as the driver is paying attention and is ready to take control at any time."

The active lane management warning light has returned, see attached!

Last time when this happened, it went away automatically after about half a day, so I canceled my service appt.

This just happened last night, I have not tried running the car yet today. Has anyone experienced this? I have now about 5.7k miles on the GC-L.

An update: I started the car the next day after that warning came on, and everything was back to normal - the lane assit warning disappeared.
I checked the windshield camera and the area looked clean and no obstructions.
I have no clue what may have triggered that warning - happened twice so far in less than 6k miles on my odometer.
Anyone else has come across this issue?

Yes it's an issue many people are getting but it just goes away on its own and theres nothing any dealer or Jeep can do about it as its not a diagnosable error and doesnt leave any codes for them to find.

I have gotten the same thing. Twice in 2 weeks. Both after washing my ‘21 GCL. First time went away as the author notes. Checking in here, now, as it just started for the noted second time.

Seriously? Nothing service can do? Thanks for that. At least will save me a trip and a blood pressure check :)

Wondering where the spot to clean is as noted iod anyone has any ideas. TIA

I've been experiencing this issue with my Jeep since I purchased it brand new in 2022.

It started happening within a week or two of my purchase. I took it to the dealer and they cleared the errors and I thought everything was fine. Then over the next two years, it continued coming up randomly.

I have documented every incident with my phone and submitted a Lemon Law claim towards the end of last year. Still waiting for that to pan out. But I have 6-7 videos of individual incidents over the past two years as well as receipts from the Jeep service centers that I've taken it to and have told me nothing is wrong.

This is definitely a defect.
