Knocking Sounds?

UPDATE:
Hi folks! The dealer service manager was accurate in his assessment that this sound and issue had to do with faulty motor mounts and not the heat shield. The dealer replaced the mounts. All applicable sounds are gone with the engine running smoothly and without vibration/sound. For those with a similar issue, refer your dealer to Jeep TSB S2123000027. I’ve attached the image which described the issue I encountered perfectly. Hope this helps the next JGCL owner facing the issue.

When was your car built. It should be on the door sticker

Just one, here’s the part. Keep us posted if this fixes the issue for you as well.
Does the knocking sound comes and goes when it happens or continous?
Mine comes then stop then come back.
I am asking all those questions because I know that they will say normal or may be can't replicate

It would happen when the Jeep was warm, almost exactly like the TSB reads for signs and symptoms. Continuous once the car was hot. I’ve faced your issue before when the dealer can’t replicate. I brought our Jeep to them when it was displaying the signs and symptoms and even requested the service manager drive with me. He heard it immediately and started scanning for related service bulletins. He ended up being right regarding the motor mount. Hoping for the same experience for you! Keep the forum posted.

Frustrating, if there’s another dealer close, you could try that avenue. For me, I had to bring it to the dealer while exhibiting the symptoms. If I left it to them, they’d never hear it, find it, or see it.
They said that I have to bring it again and leave it there

Thanks. Engine mounts or transmission mounts?. I read on a Facebook group that people were told that it is the purge valve that is making this clicking noise and that should be normal
I just returned from my local dealership today and they as well told me it was an emission purge valve and they they all have it and there is anything they can do about it. Said it is doing what it’s supposed to be doing. My only concern is that my wife said she never heard the noise before until recently. Same area thumping from passenger floorboard area.

Can you confirm that the sound never came back after motor mount replacement?

Thank you all for the information! My wife literally just complained about this noise on her 21 GCL Altitude with 18,000 miles. Just dropped it off for another ongoing issue (shocking, I know) and told them about the noise. I will call them about the engine mount TSB.

Just got back from dealer, after showing them this forum and TSB it appears that this was the issue. They replaced both insulator engine mounts
68375806AG, 68375805AG. It appears this solved the thumping after much back and forth with them. So far no noise.
