Ordered a SR V8, loaded '21, with employee pricing. When switched to a '22, dealership protected my '21 pricing. Dealership knew there was only a 4 1/2 month window, as we head south for 4 months in a couple of days. I'm happy it went to a '22, did not want to have a '21 in Dec/Jan., the only ouch point is that our current 2018 Summit will have another 7500 miles on it. In Canada 100km or 60000 miles for whatever reason is the magic threshold trade in number, and we will be close when we come back. I understand the process, as I have ordered several vehicles, only this L and one other has tested my patience. Just sucks to see orders placed for same in Sept/Oct. Nov and being delivered. By the way we'll be Palm Harbor in a couple of days. I'll be looking for your LThat’s why I said it “plays a part” as opposed to definitively saying that is how they are built. Generally they build them based on when order is placed, it is JIT after all and that’s how JIT generally works. Unfortunately there are a large amount of other variables (I noted a few) that are then tossed into the mix and screw up that entire process. And with shortages plaguing the entire industry, all bets are off the table on what is built and when!
With you, bottom line is somehow you got screwed lol. I can’t understand how you and some other orders ended up basically getting forgotten. BUT you might win out, esp if you ordered an Overland or above trim seeing as the 22s have some $$ features tossed back in (Quadra-Air and Tow) and hands off driving added. Only question is what price you’ll pay, I have no idea what you were able to negotiate but I’m very interested in seeing how that works out for you.
