Jeep Grand Cherokee L order status updates….

The dealership just told me that it's not in D status anymore, but there's nothing else noted! I guess that's progress
It is, good luck!
He should be able anyway to tell you exactly what's the code.
If its D1, he can also see an estimated ship date. No reason for your dealer to hold this info from you, just understand this date changes often.

My L has been in transit for 2 weeks now, I just wish once they shipped they provided a tracking # like a package being delivered for updates so I don't have to reach out to Jeep Cares or the Dealership

Mine was received today. I built with trailer tow package but it arrived with a trailer tow pre package, Trim Level is Altitude is this standard or do you think my dealership made a mistake? @JeepCares your response could help as well.

Are you sure it was the Tow Package when you ordered? You have the order confirmation, it should be there if you paid for Package and not Prep. So you would have to get the Hitch receiver and wiring harness

For what I've seen before:
Altitude - Tow Prep only available
Limited - Tow Package initially available, then they changed to only Tow Prep
Overland/Summit V6 - Initial units shipped included the Tow package, then only Tow prep
Overland/Summit V8 - Tow Package std
SR - Tow package std

The following three items just showed up on my build sheet that I got yesterday:

Customer Preferred Package 2TU - Any idea what this is?

Special Scheduling Condition VII - Any thoughts on this?

D1-To-D Regress - SIGH

Its looking like my vehicle has a problem? Maybe being rebuilt after final inspection failure?

From what I have been able to glean the Condition VII means my vehicle goes to the head of the line.. Thinking this is as it gets rebuilt??

Hi all,

I was wondering what the average wait time was for a 2021 Summit Reserve GCL WL75 with the 5.7 HEMI was?

I ordered a 2022 WL74 2-row version in late October and was wondering if I can get some data to compare my order to.

Thank you in advance

Nice! Hopefully you get yours soon!

How long have you been in G status for? How long did it take for you to go from D status to D1, E status etc.?

What's your estimated ship date if you have one?

From what I have seen coming out from the factory recently, it looks they are shipping most of the remaining 2021 V8 orders. If you have a 2021 V8 still pending you should be getting it soon.
My dealer showed me recently that they dont have that many outstanding 2021 orders pending. I believe no 2021 cant be ordered since early November?

Once they start building the 2022 L, expect most V6s to come out first before they go back to V8

Your thoughts…when the 2022s start being built will it be first in first out, random builds or would they likely prioritize the units ordered as part of a buyback deal?

Great question!
Under normal circumstances (pre-pandemic) they would have the plant pumping out a good mix of trims, engine size, colors, etc in the same week so they can maintain good stock at the dealers.
For the current market I think they are building whatever they have parts for, minimizing changes to improve productivity.
Note that the same plant is now building the 2-row. No idea if they are building the L in the same exact production line, mixing 2 rows and 3 rows.
WL74 will have priority so they can fill dealers, I just hope they can also build the WL75 at the same time so I can get my 2022 order!

Got another update! Jeep chat finally changed their response to "Thank you so much for holding. I am showing all of the materials needed to start the build process have been received. The vehicle should be entering the build process shortly." So folks, you've all been spot on so far! Where do you think things sit with timing in a moderately perfect scenario? Again:
10/9: ordered a 22 L Summit, V6
10/18: dealership told me that a VIN and an order number was established
10/27: I got a email from Jeep cares
11/3: dealership said that its in "D" status and Jeep chat said that typically production starts after 7-9 weeks from order, which would put us around 11/27 at 7 weeks. They mentioned that once production starts, could take up to 10 days to complete.
11/11: No longer in D status
11/16: All Parts have been received and should enter the build process shortly

so it seems you are in D1, confirm that with the dealer.
Since they are about to change from 2021 to 2022 my guess it that your vehicle should be shipping in the next 2-3 weeks.

Chat has told me that same "all parts are ready and should enter soon" line for over 5 weeks now. So would say don't get excited, but agree with everyone with the 22's around the corner, surely the remaining 21's should be going out soon.

I've been sitting at "all parts are ready and should enter production soon" since 10/1. Ordered 9/14. Yesterday my Jeep Chat Rep did say that she would "elevate" my inquiry since they usually do not sit in that status more than 30 days. I guess I'll be getting myself a really nice Christmas present. I just hope it's worth the wait.

My 2021 V8 Summit has also been sitting at "all parts are ready..." since 10/1 and I ordered on 8/17. In late October, Jeep Chat elevated my request and assigned me a specific Jeep rep suggesting that my order would then be expedited. The assigned rep emailed me once and said she would email again when there was an update. I have followed up a few times with the assigned rep and have been ghosted. I've tried to remain patient and understanding with the global chip shortage and other supply chain issues. But, I'm going to get really grumpy if I start seeing 2022s ship before my 2021 ships.

I agree. I ordered 21 GCL Summit Reserve V6 08/10/21. Have VIN on printout from dealer with status as of 10/29/21 D1 - Gateline plant has sequenced the unit for production with a ship date 11/29/21. Called Jeep Cares number today. They only show my 17 GC Summit in their system. No info in there for 21 GCL SR. Now I have a case number and a rep will contact me in 1-2 days. They had me on hold while they searched for VIN. They found nothing

My build sheet is available today. Does that mean it's built? The ship date is today according to the dealer.

Timeline for those who are wondering:
Ordered 8/30
Received Vin 9/3
D1 Status 10/3
Build Sheet available 11/17
