Jeep Grand Cherokee L order status updates….

I don’t know how Jeep is scheduling when vehicles get built. I ordered a V8 summit with a bench on 8/17. As of 10/1, Jeep had all the parts to build the car (verified by several Jeep employees) and was in queue. Here we are nearly six weeks later and my vehicle still hasn’t entered into production.

I’ve seen my same build on many dealers’ lots within a few hours of me. I’ve been tempted to cancel my order and go buy one of those, but haven’t because I don’t want to have to fight to get my deposit refunded. I may change my attitude if I don’t see any movement in another two weeks.
In a similar situation, I ordered in July and all parts received in September. Looks like I'll get a 2021 in 2022. Dealer refusing to refund booking amount.

I order a 22 L Summit, V6 on 10/9. The dealership told me that a VIN and an order number was established on 10/18. I got a email from Jeep cares on 10/27. I've been checking with Jeep Chat and they keep saying that my vehicle is in the scheduling phase since I've gotten the VIN. On 11/3 my dealership said that its in "D" status and when checking with Jeep chat again, they said that typically production starts after 7-9 weeks from order, which would put us around 11/27 at 7 weeks. They mentioned that once production starts, could take up to 10 days to complete.

Anyone have a similar timeline and idea of when you think the vehicles have been trending? Hoping to have the car by Christmas for our trip to the mountains!

I also ordered a 22 Summit Reserve L that same week on 10/15 and got a VIN pretty quickly. After googling a bit, it looks like Job 1 for the '22s aren't until 11/16 so I'm assuming we're pretty close to the front of the orders so I hope / assume by the end of the month it should be built. The dealer said when I ordered that it would normally be 6-8 weeks but could make no guarantees on that since the production date for '22s had not been told to them yet. I also saw where the factory was idled the week before last so who knows if that production start date was pushed or not. And all this is still assuming they have all the parts.

Not sure how reliable these guys are, but they have updated their info to show a 12/01/21 start date

Both of you got your orders in just shortly after they opened the allocation for MY22, so you could say you are ahead in the queue for 2022 L
Since you ordered V6, those will probably be the first units coming out of the plant once they start 2022's.
Right now they are still pumping out '21 V6 and are having significant delays on '21 V8's.
But until you are in D1 status, you don't get an estimated ship date (which means nothing lately because they just keep pushing out the dates even for D1)

Finally got my window sticker today. How long did it take for you guys to receive delivery from this point?
I guess you are one of many still waiting for their V8's
Lower left corner of the window sticker above the bar code tells you production date. Your vehicle should be in transit but depending on where you are and how they ship it, it could be 1 or several weeks of waiting.

If it is a 2021 SR, I am curious to find out if the build sheet has "Elec LTD Slip Differential Rr Axle" or "Conventional Differential Rear Axle". The reason I ask is I looked at a SR which was built last month which had "Conventional Differential Rear Axle." It looks like they quietly dropped the eLSD, at least on the SR I looked at.

Edit:

I also just noticed the rear axle changed from "230MM Rear Axle" to "195MM Rear Axle."

Yep they dropped the elsd on mine. Only thing missing.

Dealership indicates they expect the vehicle next week.

Here is what my schedule has come out to look like so far... still waiting.

SR V8 - White - 2nd row bucket seats - "bright" side steps - Tupelo interior - all other options selected except the block heater. Ship location is to East Tennessee.

July 29th: ordered
Aug 5th: VIN assigned
Oct 6th: Jeep Chat: "materials needed to start the build process have been received. The vehicle should be entering the build process very soon."
Oct 13th: Notified by dealership of D1 status of Jeep - estimated ship date is Oct 28th
Nov 4th: Dealership called: still in the same D1 status - said ship dates have been running longer than what is stated -"probably see it around the 1st of December sometime"
Nov 9th: Jeep Chat says it's "in paint"

No build sheet or window sticker available online yet. No welcome email received yet.

The wife is now joking that she will put a bow on it for Christmas. We always laugh at the Christmas commercials were one of the spouses gives the other spouse a car for Christmas - and how much trouble we'd be in with each other if we spent that kind of money without the other knowing - or at least getting to choose the options/color/etc.

So did it change the code from D1 to which one?
If its still D1 dont trust yet any dates.
If he’s giving you the Estimated ship date from their system, those dates get pushed often while in D1

Any thoughts on how long it will take for my SR V8 that was in "E" Status as of Monday to arrive at the dealer?
Based on others experience on the forum, I'm thinking about 4 weeks.

I just placed my order for a '22 GCL Summit Reserve on 11/6 and got the VON and VIN a couple of days later. Since I just ordered 4 days ago, my order status is currently D. Excited and ready :)
