Jeep Grand Cherokee L order status updates….

Just got similar updates that our 22 SR V6 is also going into D1 via chat. Ordered 10/20. Going to reach out to my dealer and try to get confirmation!
Did chat actually say "D1"? They've told me repeatedly they don't see the actual status. Jeep chat has been telling me "I can see all the required materials for your order have been gathered and the plant has sequenced your order for production, it should be entering the build very soon!" since 12/23, which I assume is D1. I asked my dealer early this week for the actual status and he said D1, so I assume that's what that means from Jeep Chat. I asked my dealer today if he knew the estimated ship date, but he hasn't gotten back to me yet.

I had to contact my dealer to find out the actual status and the estimated build/delivery dates.

That sounds like D1 to me. Before that Jeep chat would say something about it being in the "scheduling phase."

I would take the ship dates with a grain of salt... It seems like they are very rough estimates. Your dealer should be able to show you whatever is on their screen though, including build status.

So I just discovered by searching dealer inventory that the exact SR build I ordered is built and in Transit to another dealer 47 miles away, I'm trying to decide if I should ask my dealer if we could swap...

I called my dealer today and he told about moving to D1 status and the ship date. Yesterday Jeep Chat said they were waiting on the parts.

Surprised they didn't switch you to a '22. I ordered BG SR V8 loaded Aug 9th, Jeep switched it to a '22 mid Oct. Still don't have a VIN however.

Like @FlyingAvocado mentioned, I had to contact my dealer to confirm D1 status. Jeep Chat will only tell you if the order is being scheduled or sequenced for production. Based on that, that usually means its in D1, but I was able to confirm with my dealer on Friday that it was in fact now in D1 with a ship date of 1/14. We'll see if they actually can move from D1 to ship in a week. I'm doubtful 😂

So far my timeline for our 22 SR V6 has been:
Oct 20: Order placed
Oct 21: Order confirmed with VIN & VON provided
Jan 7: D1 w/ Jan 14 expected ship date

I had a VIn, they cant change you with a VIN... something is wrong if you dont have a VIN, my guess 99.9% of folks on here have their VIN in 24-48 hrs of receiving their VON

I have similar time frames, ordered 10/16, now D1. I still dont have a buildsheet. I though the buildsheet would populate once we hit D1

So my dealer says I'm in D1, but he also says he doesn't have an estimated ship date and that he wouldn't normally see that until it's actually built, which is sort of contrary to everything people have said here... Is he just not looking in the right place?

I had a fluid estimated ship date for a little while before mine was built. Now that it’s built and ready to ship we don’t have an estimated ship date or ETA. I have been in KZ L for almost a week. Jeep Chat tells me I should have an ETA within the week. We’ll see. I don’t think any estimated date would be very meaningful until it’s actually on the train or truck. There are too many variables in the build and inspection process. And in the shipping process. One huge variable that others have suggested on here is that they won’t move until there is a train or truck full heading in the same direction. Makes sense.

Why did you cancel it if you don't mind sharing? Mine has been stuck in transit for 2 months so even I'm thinking of cancelling as it's a 21 SR.
My '21 SR V8 has been stuck in transit for over a month and Jeep chat just gave me a dealer ETA of 1/10/22-1/20/22. I'll believe it when I see it. I had ordered it in July. As hard as it is, I'm rejecting it and waiting for my '22 SR V8 that I ordered on 12/20/21 when I decided that I didn't want to drive a '21 off the lot in 2022.

My delivery window is now moved from 12/21 - 1/6 to 1/3 - 1/17. How much longer are they pushing this window back? It's sitting in Dixiana, SC which I believe is a storage unit. It's 2.5 hours away from my dealership and the dealership keeps saying that they don't know when it'll get here. Mentioned they may be a driver shortage...I don't buy that at all. I'm 12 weeks out from order. Should I be patient or pissed that it's been sitting there for 2 weeks?
If it helps, I ordered my SR V8 on 27 July.....and literally just brought it home today.

From what I can tell, the very first "ship" date is more like the build date. From there the dates seem to become less predictable. I can only assume they have very little control over what happens with the carriers. For example, just as cargo ships have been unable to unload when the yards are full, trains cant ship vehicles if there isn't any room to unload them either. Either way, 9 weeks is a pretty good turn around - especially in the current environment.
