Jeep Grand Cherokee L order status updates….

I offered to go and pick it up myself but my dealer said that the railroad won't release it until it reaches the final destination.

That seems pretty ridiculous, doesn't the dealer have a way to escalate something like that? I would be offering to go and get it.

No way any dealer would allow you to pickup a car on their behalf.
All the vehicles leave the plant on "ship mode". There's work each dealer has to do on every car before you can take delivery.
Not to mention liabilities etc for the customer picking up a car that you are yet to be the legal owner.

A couple of questions…
Does anyone know what the plant schedule generally is? Do they work 5 days a week? 6? Do they generally work 2 shifts? 3 shifts?
And what about the body vendors? Is this part of Jeep or is it third party contractors?
The point of these questions is whether there is any chance my build would change status from late afternoon to morning? Or morning to evening?

I was kidding :) If I could I'd drive to Detroit...

I did do some research on this, but I don't have any definitive answers. But apparently *some* of their plants including Jefferson run a 3 shift schedule, Mack was not listed, but since it's their newest plant and it's next door to Jefferson, I assume that they maybe do too. However, I also saw that it might be a 3 shift 4 day schedule, so I don't know whether its 4,5,6 or 7 days a week, and the 3 shift for Mack is a guess...

Do you know what day your build sheet came up? I ordered mine 11/29, 5 days after you, and still nada. Dealer says D1.

As far as the eLSD delete, do you think that's because you have the V6? I think that on my '19 GC HA, the eLSD was *only* available with the V8 models, maybe they quietly went back to that plan? I just went through Cryptostickers and only saw eLSD deletes on V6's, not on V8's. So my fingers are starting to burn from being crossed.
So you can't really use mine as an exmple to go off of... I may or may not have an edge that you don't, which pushes my build to the front with other priority 7 builds. As far as the eLSD I have no know idea to be honest. I have heard the V8 gets it, the SR gets it and supposedly the Overland will get it again. That's just stuff I have heard though. All I know in the build system there was a mandatory delete for it and I have the V6. I have seen folks on here with V8s say they have it, what I don't know is if those folks are only Reserve trims or if any are just plan Summit trims.

FYI I did just pick up my GCL Summit V6 tonight! It arrived at the dealer yesterday. I am down in Tampa, FL.

The eLSD was on GCL Summits that were built in early December but were deleted on Summits built later in December on V6 models. I noticed this as I looked at the vehicle search page and noticed the build dates on each window sticker.

Congrats! Mine has been at the body vendor for almost 2 weeks. And it’s supposed to be a priority build. The operative phrase being “supposed to be”. I really doubt there was ever any priority attached.

I just found this post detailing the Wrangler build process, again, no way to know if it applies to GCL's or any other products...

"The Wrangler plant is usually working two ten hour shifts six days per week (recent talks between Jeep and UAW may change this to three eight hour shifts). In that time they can turn out 500 to 800 vehicles per day. An order can start a build and make through on the same day, take 3 days if it starts late on Friday and finishes on Monday or it can be pushed off to a siding area to be finished later. Don't know what causes this to happen but they have rows of waiting lines for storing them."

Pick of the vehicle or pic of the special "push" lol. For the push you can see my cat 7 listed below... for the pic I present to you a fancy white vehicle with a giant red bow! FWIW.... our V6 Summit DOES have the engine cover. Also, damn these seat massagers are freaking awesome!!

I have the massaging seats on my 21 GCL Overland. They really are nice especially on long trips. You will love them.
My buildsheet shows the same Special Scheduling Condition VII, but it seems mine has been ignored.

Yes, this is in all build sheets for sold orders. Unfortunately doesnt work every time as you point.
My '22 GCL Overland took just 6 weeks from order to the day I took delivery. I know I was very lucky

Which vehicle search page?
Jeep Grand Cherokee L build and then search for vehicles. I put in max distance of 250 miles. You can click on VIN and get the window stickers and on that near bottom left is the build date.

Hope this helps
Ooooh, that tool... Gotcha... I didn't think dealers had any '22's yet, my dealer told me they couldn't order any and told me that Jeep may call me to verify that I was the one actually purchasing it to verify the dealer wasn't trying to sneak one in...

In my area, 250 mile radius of Southern Indiana there are 24 SR GC all V8 and 1 SR GCL with V6 and it's last numbers in the VIN are 30017 and build date is 01/04. Maybe we will start to see production of more GCL SR V6 now.
