Jeep Grand Cherokee L order status updates….

I aimed for a lease payment that was $110 less per month than MSRP lease payment that I was quoted form 3 different dealers. It was a 48/12k on a summit reserve v8 with lux and tech package. Assuming the advertised 6.12% interest rate on Jeeps website and also assuming a residual of 50%, it comes to about 5k off sticker... Sales manager worked out the deal and is a good friend of a good friend.

I received this email from Jeff a few minutes ago:

This is a courtesy email update regarding your all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee L factory order status.

Good news! I presently show your order has concluded factory production and is now presently awaiting shipment via the next available shipping carrier. I anticipate your order should begin the shipping process very soon.

I have reached out to our logistics teams to ensure your order is prioritized for delivery as well as to gather an estimated dealership delivery window to share further with you. I hope to have additional news and updates to provide soon.

I will be following up with you for your order updates as soon as there are additional updates to share on your order. Additional email responses received will be queued and responded to within this time-frame. If you require immediate assistance pertaining to any ordering questions or concerns, we encourage you to speak with your ordering dealership who is your best resource for any ordering questions you may have related to your factory order.

Thank you for your loyalty and we’re proud to have you as a member of the Jeep Family!

I've talked to my dealer multiple times and did the online chat and I was told they are no longer giving shipping codes. Anyone else been told that?

There are thousands of Grand Cherokee L's sitting in the lots outside Jefferson / Mack assembly. I have not seen the lots that full in years (even with Grand Cherokee/Durango production in normal times, the lots weren't that full); https://moparinsiders.com/community/index.php?threads/the-mystery-of-the-jefferson-and-mack-lots-thousands-of-grand-cherokee-l’s.4118/#post-16901

It is strange that there are that many vehicles, I would have thought they would have started moving them to dealers. It's to the point where most of the lot is full. Guestimate - probably around 3000-4000 vehicles parked. I thought there was a nationwide vehicle shortage :p

Keep in mind the proportions.
3-4K units seems like a lot but when you start from scratch with dealers holding zero units you may be looking at just 2 months of inventory in the parking lot.
If they started shipping weeks ago without enough inventory to send to all dealers then they create more demand they can't meet.
The lot is probably full for the moment and once units start selling you will see less in the parking lot and more on transit.
Two row GC's sell at about 225-240K per year. Even if the GC L is just a fraction of this volume, expect sales of 2-4K units per month in the first full year.

I got a phone call from my dealer today that my summit reserve is scheduled to arrive tomorrow to the dealership. I guess I’ll Believe it when I see it but exciting nonetheless.
Did you GCL arrive at your dealership? Do you have possession yet?

Dealerships are the absolute worst, I swear. I had one call me this morning, said they got one in and come test drive. I said I would be there in 30 mins, and he asked me to wait 2 hours so it could be prepped and taken out of "shipping mode" (whatever that means). Then he called when I was almost there and said nevermind they don't have it. He says it was a false alarm and they didn't actually get one but I'm sure he sold it to someone else. Then I found one about 45 minutes away, drove over there to look at it and he wouldn't let me test drive! He knew I was driving so far, and he didn't mention it on the phone.
Long story short I got to see the limited L., but not drive it. The exterior is awesome and the interior is not too shabby either. I really want to see the overland and summit to decide between those two. Of course because it was in the showroom, they wouldn't even let me turn it on, so I can't speak to the screens or the features yet. But Just based on appearance alone, ya'll, its worth the wait.
