Please let us know. I am having the same issue. Thanks. After researching this forum I found it was an issue with the latch motor. Just had it replaced literally hours ago. Hope it’s the permanent fix.

We got out part yesterday to fix the back latch battery draining issue. Dealer Ordered it 11/8 and it arrived 11/17Our new GCL didn't even make it to 500 miles before the batteries drained. The dealer disconnected both sets of wires so now we can't even open the hatch manually. Did anyone else have the dealer do this? Does anyone know how long it takes to get the new latch? We were told that there were already 230 on backorder. Thanks.
Great question. I would also like to know.anyone know where the module is located? the part is $40... rather just replace myself than deal with the dealer....
Thank you. My previous post is updated with your part # and some idea of where it is located for others. The part number my dealer has on order is: 68356645AJ.
Why are you showing an RRT for 2015?See here... UPDATED WITH CORRECT PART NUMBER FROM OWNER. DIY repairs can result in warranty becoming void issues, not trying to be a Debbie Downer. The photos of lift gate module location and recall bulletin are from a 2014-2015 JEEP Cherokee, see recall bulletin. Go figure, Jeep had module failures back then. The module is located under the plastic piece that guy is prying up with his screwdriver. The plastic trim that covers the latch area in the middle. The module is located on the inside of the tire well area underneath the plastic cover. Mental note, use plastic tools to pry on plastic parts, the photos are not ideal and will result in damage if not careful. I Assume the location is the same, keyword... Assume. Just trying to help, not point you all incorrectly. My GCL is at the shop and cannot help any more, go figure.

Why are you showing an RRT for 2015? Guess I should also ask, are the other pictures from an L or an older model?
I got the same from my service manager when we took our GCL for the stop start not working. It hasn't worked from day one. We even went on a long road trip and it still didn't work. We have not had the dead battery issue like others are having. When we shut the car off we get a check rear seat message. Can someone please translate this from my service manager: appears that while we were diagnosing and inspecting your Jeep, the battery threshold went below that number. On some vehicles, when this happens a message saying battery charging will appear. On your Jeep it simply says start/stop not available and no other details. Going further with the auxiliary battery, it runs the control modules and accessories when the start/stop functions. The more options running, the bigger the draw on that battery. Talking with my higher skilled technicians, I am told that with this design, the auxiliary battery will from time to time, not have enough voltage to allow the start/stop to function. It will need to recharge itself until the battery sensor sees enough voltage to allow start/stop operation.
So the battery is only fitting 65% threshold?
