...for the first time while driving this morning, the Auto High-Beams came on with the light switch in Auto. That did not work previously. Yay!
This was never broken. The thing that changed for you is it's staying darker longer so your lights actually turned on. There was no update....for the first time while driving this morning, the Auto High-Beams came on with the light switch in Auto. That did not work previously. Yay!

Ok that's fine but there was zero updates for fixing auto high beams. Lol 😂Nope, that is certainly NOT the case. I'm leaving home at 6:40 AM and at that time - at least where I live - there was no glimpse of daylight for the entire time I owned my vehicle so far. Also, when I picked up the car, we drove it all the way to Florida from SC and arrived after 10 PM and not once did the high beams turn on.
It was completely dark before so it makes no difference if it stays dark longer now.
I Think you are confusing what he is saying. Some trims would not allow their high beams on while in auto headlight mode. This is different than auto high beams. There was indeed a fix being implemented and pushed to allow high beams to stay on in auto mode and not having to first move headlights to the “on” position. I bet he was just trying with his high beams clicked on and in auto and they actually worked this time.Ok that's fine but there was zero updates for fixing auto high beams. Lol 😂
From day one, I had my headlight-switch in the 'Auto'-position and in the settings-menu, had the auto high beam feature activated. However, even in complete darkness without oncoming traffic, my high beams never turned on automatically. Until yesterday. The regular headlights always turned on in Auto, just not the high beams. I have no clue what could have caused this feature to all of a sudden work. What I know for a fact is that when I left my home in the morning yesterday, it was not any 'darker' than the week(s) before or darker than after 10 PM.I Think you are confusing what he is saying. For auto high beams to work you need to push the lever on the column forward. You you not have them turned on? Your dash will also give you a notification when they are enabled or disabled from there being to much light. Just going under an overpass causes mine to be enabled because it think it's dark out but they don't come on because there are other cars around. From day one, I had my headlight-switch in the 'Auto'-position and in the settings-menu, had the auto high beam feature activated. That's odd. No, I don't have my lever pushed forward. I have it in the normal position and only the switch on Auto and it works now. While there is oncoming traffic or anything else preventing them from being triggered, there is also no other indication displayed on the cluster. Only the blue symbol when they come on. On my BMW, I had to push the lever forward in auto mode to have the auto high beams enabled. On my Lincoln, however, I don't.For auto high beams to work you need to push the lever on the column forward. You you not have them turned on? Yes it's required to push the lever forward, then it has to be dark enough, then there has to be no oncoming traffic. This will turn on your auto high beams. If you want to force it you have to move your dial from auto to just on, then you can control them like old-school high beams.Well, I stand corrected!
The lever IS/WAS actually pushed. This must have happened by accident, LOL. However, I do not recall seeing any indicator in the cluster other than the blue symbol when they are triggered. So it seems Jeep is like BMW and not like Lincoln then.
So in the end, it was neither an OTA update nor the fact that it is getting darker. I simply must have pushed the lever forward by accident - LOL!
I also have to have another look at the manual if it specifically mentions the pushed lever as requirement for the auto high beams to work - on top of having the feature activated in the settings and being in auto mode.
Thanks! That makes sense now.Yes it's required to push the lever forward, then it has to be dark enough, then there has to be no oncoming traffic. This will turn on your auto high beams.
