Hurricane twin turbo I6 inbound? No more V8 on the 3 row or 2 row US configurator tonight.

Hurricane coming soon? I sure hope so. The US configurator is now V6 only for the 3 row in all trims.

It's still on the Canadian site, but they get all the good stuff anyway (eLSD, Overland with Off Road Group, etc)

No news on the Hurricane from my executive referral manager at Stellantis or my dealer, but my dealer was only able to order me a V8 GCL Summit Reserve because they had one remaining V8 allocation slot left in the system. So, for anyone looking to order a V8 anymore, or at least for now, you have to find a dealer with an open V8 allocation, as it cannot otherwise be ordered apparently.

BS...I can order a V8 at any dealer...Grand Cherokees aren't restricted allocation for customer orders....nice story @Sarge .:rolleyes:

Nope. Dealer couldn’t do it, I only got one ordered because they still had one open V8 allotment.

They begged me to ask my corporate guy if he could get them another one since this replacement deal is basically no profit for them.

People haven’t been able to order 2 row cars with a v8 in the US in weeks. The 3 row just lost it yesterday on the configuration.

I assume they ordered X amount with plans to have the Hurricane launched by now. Who knows.

My V8 SR build was completed today. Unfortunately there is no eLSD.

And the online configurator is not a reliable measure because it is not real-time synced with the production order system. It showed the Overland with the Off Road Group package available for all of 21-22, but my dealer was never able to order it once the whole time. AFAIK only Canada, and maybe Mexico, we’re ever able to actually order it.

At the same time, the dealer has been able to order things like rear seat entertainment and passenger dash screens, etc, before they were available on the configurator. Same thing with available colors.

The configurator is a stand-alone system and it’s not reliably synced to actual production realities.

The price increases are getting crazy. I just got my Window Sticker and it has increased over $1,000 from last month when I placed the order.

For what it’s worth: they are not building midnight sky, Baltic gray, or Hydro blue at the moment either. The ELSD is on a delete hold for the time being in the Summits as well.
