How is remote start and hvac supposed to work?

Last summer was when I noticed that the remote start was odd. I remember using remote start and wondering why my cabin wasn't cool. The AC didn't go on, in fact, only the fan would blow until I opened the driver door. Is this normal? Same thing through out the winter, only the fan blowing til the door was opened. if this is how its supposed to operate, what's the point if it doesn't cool or heat the car til the door is open and I'm already inside

There a setting buried in the menus somewhere that toggles the HVAC to turn on when you either a) use remote start, b) on any start, or c) never. Maybe yours is set to never?

When it's 40f or lower it will automatically turn on your seat warmers and heated steering wheel. I don't think it heats the cabin, it just runs the system like you had it last time you drove. In the summer it turns on the vented seat.

For me, I’ve noticed I have to unlock the car first, then the remote start will turn on the seat warmer and heated steering wheel.

If I don’t unlock it first, it doesn’t turn those features on.

Gotten two emails now from jeep saying there’s options to control the temperature of the vehicle. You click it and it takes you to the app download. No pictures of temp control and I’ve yet to “access” that feature as with everything it’s a slow wave rollout. Previous UConnect app was so much better and had all features available when I purchased the 18’ GC. This has less options than that $35k non LUXURY vehicle

I don't think they are referring to actually changing the temperature. All they do is remote start your car from the app.

My experience with Jeep connect app in my Jeep GCL Summit is really frustrating. Now it is not reporting odometer, miles etc.. I don't why Jeep is releasing apps like this.

For me it works on remote start when I unlock the car first and then hit the remote start button twice . I know, it sounds stupid.
