Horn honks 4 times

I’m trying to figure why once and a while my horn will chirp 4 times when exiting or entering the jeep. I know it probably has something to do with the key Fob but I can’t figure out why.
Thanks

3 honks. Reminding you that you left the engine running while the key is in your pocket (I know it is stupid).
On my 2018 Durango, it used to honk 3 times only if I forget the key fob inside the car and try to LOCK it while exiting.
Is there any way to disable it? I frequently start my car up and keep the key in my pocket

I know this is kinda stupid solution but I found that when I’m in and out of the car a lot if you leave a second key in the center compartment you can completely shut the doors and the horn won’t honk. I’ve found it to be useful because I can still lock the door with the key I keep on myself but the car will run and not honk because the 2nd key is still in the car.

That said they should add a software fix / option to turn of the damn honk at the very least just 1 honk.. 3 is to many

It’s a safety feature, and I find it a little annoying as well but I know people who have left cars running thinking it was off… can be very dangerous as well if you park in a garage… better safe than sorry?

Just a heads up I would be careful with that, I’m not sure where you are located but I’m in nj and cars are getting stolen like crazy…also things stolen out of cars, they just come and check if your car doors are open and steal everything and If your keys are in there I’d say good chance the car gets taken

I agree I don’t have that problem in the part of Virginia I live in. I own a pizza store so often times I’m delivering a pizza and pulled into someone’s driveway

Anybody know how to turn this 3 honk warning off? It is annoying to have the horn honk if I leave my car running on purpose. My neighbors or people walking by at the store probably wonder what I'm honking at! :)

In my 2012 Nissan rouge. It only beeps 3 times and not honk. I can’t believe why jeep programmed to blow horns instead of beeps. 2012!!

Why couldn’t jeep have programmed to use the beep that triggers on trunk open/close and beep that 2-3 times. That would be so less annoying than alerting the whole freaking community

It’s like hey everyone, my car is on and unattended. Help yourself steal it

So dumb! 🤦‍♂️

@JeepCares i hope you can take this suggestion of using trunk open/close beeps to beep thrice instead of honking 3 times. I’m programmer and I bet it would be simple update. Hire me to do it if anything.

It's so annoying I want to rip the f$%(*Uing horn out of it. Trying to drop off a friend after the bars close and you want to walk them to the door? WAKE UP A$$HOLES I'M HERE IN MY NEW JEEEP. YOU'RE WELCOME!

It's possibly even more hateful than the fact I can't disable stability control. The whole thing is controlled by computer code! GIVE ME THE CHOICES.

I agree with the frustration. I often start my car before I walking out of the house. When I approach the car, I put my gym bag in the backseat first and when I close the door, it honks thee 3 times. Very annoying, especially when it’s early morning and I’m trying to not wake anybody.

Gonna pile on with the criticism. My Charger has a similar feature but there is also an option in the menus to turn it off. Not sure why they didn't include that with GCL. This is so annoying that I have now gotten into the habit of opening the driver's side front door before closing the rear door after putting my daughter in the car seat early in the morning (when remote starting the car head of time) precisely to avoid the three honks.

Aweful feature I’m a freight pilot and often get up at 2am to get to work. I make multiple trips back and forth to my jeep this 3 honk feature is awful. And I’m waiting for a neighbor to say something.
