Grand cherokee L Limited - Active Lane Management System (self driving???)

I have both systems on my car, and it fights/warns me when either system is engaged unless I use my turn signal to change lanes or turn. The irony is sometimes when I have the 'active driving assist' turned on, THE VEHICLE tries to go over the passenger side shoulder line and fights me as I try to keep it in the lane. If I give up, the computer purposely drives onto the shoulder, over the line, and then says 'FU, I give up, you drive'. It's batshit stupid, and otherwise wanders in its own lane half the time in absolutely perfect conditions on well marked interstate pavement, swerving back and forth, looking for the pavement line markings on either side like a farsighted short-attention-span gerbil.

The dumbest part is this semi-self-drunk-driving' feature is apparently RENTAL software that you have to pay for once the gratis 'new vehicle' period runs out, despite having paid for all the hardware in the top line tech package. Of course not one of the sales people I talked to ever disclosed that. And you can't even figure out what the cost will be on the Jeep app or website. Zero info on price of any of these 'rental features'. And they work so poorly it's practically like renting malware.

Your system has a problem, go to a dealer. My assisted driving works amazing. Drove 2h on the freeway over the weekend and didn't adjust the steering wheel the entire time.

I seriously think your Active Driving Assist might not be working properly. My Summit drives smoothly through curvy hilly country roads and on the highway up to 90mph. Add sensor calibration to the list of problems with your vehicle!

I personally hate the Active Lane Management System and keep it turned off. I like being able to gradually change lanes when passing a vehicle. However, this system fights your steering input requiring excessive steering input resulting in an abrupt lane change which is very noticeable to the passengers. It is especially unnerving on two-lane roads when passing in the oncoming lane when it fights crossing back to your lane. To say the least, it would be unsettling to anyone driving the vehicle that wasn’t aware of this feature.
Using your blinker will solve your problem.

I think there's a problem somewhere. You can be driving down the highway and it's fighting you to go over the shoulder line, then weave back and forth in the lane, but then get off the interstate for gas (cycling the ignition) and get back on the same pavement and it drives straight and narrow. No change in the pavement or road markings, light, conditions, etc.
