Front axle disconnect?

Is there any way to know if this is working? I can see whether the transfer case is locked in 4x4 mode but I’d like to know if front axle disconnect is actually doing its thing.

I had a similar question in an earlier thread. I have a limited so just the standard 4x4 system. On the off road pages that shows the drivetrain it always shows unlocked no matter what I do in the snow. So I believe for my trim level that lock refers to something I don’t have vs the front axle disconnect.

Just my experience.

For that icon to show locked you need to put it in 4wd low. I think only the overland and up have that feature.

As for the front axel disconnect i'm not sure if there is a sure proof way to tell if it's working. I haven't even clicked that button after hearing about people not being able to get it back into normal drive mode.

What button?
The flat tow mode you are referring to has a button on the center console that disengages the transfer case allowing the vehicle to be towed behind an RV.

EDIT: actually maybe you are talking about something I don't know about. Looks like some Jeeps have a specific front axel disconnect used for fuel economy purposes. I know nothing about this and other than it being listed on the spec sheet from the website i have not seen or heard anyone talk about it.
