Floor vent issue

I have a 21 GCL limited with about 3k miles and just recently started experiencing many of the same issues that have been posted on here but this weekend we noticed something else. Weather has been uncommonly warm so haven’t used heat much at all but my wife did turn it on this weekend and set it for the floor vents. Well everything worked normally on the passenger side but on driver side, no air would come out of floor vent even on high setting. Soon after, she noticed the the driver’s side of the center console was getting very hot to the touch. Her cell phone on the wireless charger was also overheating at the same time. We tried the whole setup again later with the same results. I haven’t seen any other posts with this problem listed, does anyone have insight or a common issue?

I’ll check mine, I have had the issue with the charger and cup holders getting really hot with heat. I’m not a huge fan of floor vents in general because my feet get too hot, come to think about it my feet haven’t been hot

Most likely the vents routing to that side were pinched during install. Either that or they are blocked. Easiest thing would be to visually inspect the vent openings and make sure there aren’t any obstructions. Stick your hand there and see if you feel ANY heat at all (or maybe set to cold so you don’t fry something). If no joy on the above you’ll have to head to dealer and it will probably be a pinched vent. On the Gladiators many were complaining of uneven defrost issues on the front windshield. Turned out to be a similar problem in that some of the vents were being pinched when the dash was installed.

Have an appointment next week for this and many other issues to be checked out so hopefully will get to bottom of it. In the back of my mind, I’m just wondering if somehow that heat is causing some of the other issues as it can’t be good for that console to be heating up like that.

It totally could. If the electronics are being overheated it could cause them to behave erratically. Fingers crossed they are link. Good luck and report back what they say on here. In the event it's a previously unknown issue/fix we will all know what to do!
