Flawed remote start setting

Ive noticed that when you use remote start, and the headlights are set to auto ( which they always are) the light sensor will turn the headlights on if its dark out- it should just turn on the parking lights. During the day when you use it, the headlights do not come on only the parking lights ( as it should be ) No other vehicle with remote start Ive ever had did this. If you set the dial to headlights off prior to using the remote start, even at night the lights do not come on. This is a faulty setting at least on mine. So when I leave for work in the early morning Im blasting my neighbors with LED headlights which Im sure they dont appreciate. Hopefully a software fix. Yeah its a minor detail but details matter.

What if you are walking to your vehicle in a parking lot at night, wouldn’t you want the headlights to turn on when using remote start?

It still will do that.. I just dont need or want my neighborhood or a parking lot being flooded by my headlights if Im not in or near the vehicle- parking lights only are what should be on.

I noticed this as well. Only vehicle that I have ever seen where the headlights come on when using remote start. Probably just another one of the numerous bugs.

I will check tomorrow morning, but I’m pretty sure my Limited just had parking lights on today with the remote start, no DRL.
Maybe there was a forced update? I’ll check my system software build.

I have the latest software (Im pretty sure at least) and during the day its just parking lights, as it should be-- its during the dark hours it seems like the sensor is picking up and turning on the headlights (when dial is set to auto) And this is on an Overland. Appreciate the input.

for the first time while driving this morning, the Auto High-Beams came on with the light switch in Auto. That did not work previously. Yay!
This quote is from a different thread, but similar issue.
I was speaking about early morning hours when it’s still dark out (at least around here).
I’m guessing because of a forced OTA update?

I have a remote start issue when the heated seats/steering wheel don’t turn on with the remote start.

My default setting from factory had these turned off. Did you make the change under Settings to have them turn on with remote start?

Anyone know if the remote start will turn on the heat on the passenger seats as well as the driver seats? I could not find a setting etc that showed that as an option.

Yep. I’ve tried toggling it on and off.

I also haven’t had the new software loaded yet. Haven’t been able to get the FOTA or make it to the dealer. Maybe that will help.

Anyone else having issues with the heated seats settings defaulting back to "off"? We have gone into the settings countless times and reset it to "all starts", but after a day it goes back to "off". We have the 8.4 inch screen on our GCL Altitude. Thanks!

I’ve been having the same issue. I noticed a pattern of starting with the app the seats don’t turn on. Starting with the key fob the seats typically turn on. Assuming the car doesn’t turn off within a minute of starting which is another quirk I have yet to figure out.

I don't think the app uses your profile to start the vehicle and the seat heat settings might be part of the profile.

I’ve just noticed this same issue with the app not starting the heated seats. Only because it’s getting cold now.

The heated seats don't turn on for me for either remote start. Have checked the settings multiple times.

We brought our GCL back to the dealer and showed our salesman the issue on both profiles, he didn't understand why that is happening and defaulting back to "OFF" and is contacting someone from Jeep from the Uconnect/software division. In the meantime, we deleted my profile from the Uconnect system, but left my wife's on there (it is her car I guess, ha!) and that seems to have solved the issue...for now. As long as the outside temp is 40 degrees or below, the driver's heated seat and steering wheel have turned on with both phone app and key fob remote starts. We are still waiting for the dealer to contact us to see if there is an update available to fix this issue. For what we all pay for the GCL, you should be able to have the 2 separate profiles with their own settings and everything saved and working.
