Ran some errands today, pulled in the drive way and got an update message. Now I’m waiting for it to finish. Seems to be about a 10-15 min process.

I have owned GCL since September and have not received any messages about any type of OTA update. Feel like I should have gotten something by now. Have done the recall updates at dealership.
Any input on the OTA stuff?

A good dealer would do the updates while the vehicle was there. You can verify versions via Uconnect—> vehicle settings —> software version. The current versions were posted in the great update of 22 thread. Note: the small and large screens have drastically different numerical version’s due to different hardware.

My dealer told me they can't update Uconnect. I have to await the OTA.

That is total BS. They CAN if they had the right tools, but CANNOT due to the fact they do not have the latest witech diagnostic equipment. You are being lied to by your dealer. Either they are ignorant or incompetent. Every dealer thought the new crap would be supported on the old diagnostic equipment. Jeep dropped this steaming pile of failure in dealers laps and there is this little thing that needs to be purchased in order to communicate with the new platforms. All a dealer can do without one is look at data at very high levels, not flash firmware/update software.

GCL and Wagoneer require this... it is brand new and only applies to the newest platforms. It cost a mint and NOBODY has them

See here to verify my words...

NOTE: 2021 WL Grand Cherokee L wiTECH 2.0 w/ MDP

Remind your dealer that FCA requires 3 of these tools per dealership or they can be removed from the brand. They do not require a dealership to have the adapter for the GCL/Wagoneer. Pretty FN smart huh?

"Reminder: FCA requires each dealership to have a minimum of three microPods for vehicle diagnostics, including at least one dedicated device for the Enhanced DRB III Emulator. The Ideal number of diagnostic solutions within a dealership is one for every technician."

See here...

My dealer flat out told me that they cannot afford more than one of these, and due to ordering it late, they was loaning one from an other dealer. Literally 5 technicians, all working on GCL/waggoneers sharing 1 loaner device, therefore nothing gets done, service delays, scheduling delays, etc...

Watch the movie Idiocracy. We have arrived.

Even more lies from more dealers. See my post above, I had to edit a few times.

Don’t doubt it one bit. My GCL runs “fine”. Few quirks, but nothing I’m running to the dealer to get fixed, and therefore not going out of my way to fight this right now. Whenever my car is in the shop with them (hopefully not until my first oil change), I’ll bring it up.

Thanks for the information. Sucks that Chrysler is forcing these dealers to pay so much for a $20 OBD adapter. Hurts customer satisfaction.
