Factory dents on trunk door

Does anybody have little imperfections on the rear trunk door that look like dings when light hits it from the side or certain angles. You cant see it if sun is not hitting it from the side. Also metal looks straight, you can't really feel the bend anywhere. I have Overland L 2021 and Limited L 2021 and both have the same thing. See pic.

A friend of mine has black L and he has dents on the roof. Never had this on any of my 50+ cars. Jeep why ???

mine has 2-3 dents. same area but closer to the tail lights on each side.

Not sure what is worse, living with the small dents or having someone repair and repaint the hatch.

not sure what to do

Don't repaint. White is the most difficult to match almost impossible.

I am going to try paintless dent repair. If they can do all of those little dings for $300 per car I will just do that. Otherwise I will leave it and consider it as part of driving a jeep. I am 99% sure everybody has these on their hatch door on the new L. Just look from the right angle and you will see them, really small creases in the metal...

Their option is repair and repaint... I don't want to do that on brand new car. I would only consider paintless dent repair which they don't offer. I'm really upset at Jeep but I'm ok with paying $300 for repair on one or $600 for both. Will see tomorrow how much they quote me for PDR. I will keep you updated.

Part of me wants to keep it so I can show everybody quality of Jeep cars.

Any dent that didn't chip the paint can be fixed by a paintless dent repair person. They can literally get anything and will make your car better than new.

Most cars from the factory have bends and pressure points in the metal, most people will never notice but I bet there are all least 30 spots in the jeep that are not straight.

Just a heads up, I think the hatch is some kind of assembly of composite and aluminum (from what I read at least.) not sure if this changes the potential of paintless dent repair?

So dent guys came over today. This is the best dent company I used over the past 15 yrs. Right away when they saw the car they told me I'm the 5th customer in the past month for this same exact problem. They said it's the known problem on new L 's due to how body is constructed. They removed the taillight and inside is the frame that is glued to the metal sheet. On some of the spots it's the glue thats pulling the metal in. They couldnt get the tool inside and glue gun wouldnt pull the metal out bc glue is holding the metal on the other side. They were unable to push out the imperfections but were able to tip in high spots. It looks about 50% better then before. I didn't even touch my wife's limited.

I guess we just have to live with it. For 62k car, this is unbelivable. If I had known I would have been driving MDX right now but too late.
