Engine Covers

I'll start by saying that I am loving my new Jeep GC WL74. With 2.400 miles the only unresolved issue is a clunking under the car (drivers side) when I start it cold. It gets a little better after warmed up.
Regarding the engine covers....I installed one today and while inexpensive....it does beg the question....why in the world should I have to purchase something that should have come with the car? In the whole scheme of things I'm pretty fortunate on many levels that these are the BIG problems I am dealing with!!

That is VERY lame that they provide an incomplete vehicle w/o also providing an IOU listing, then installing those parts, no charge, once available.

Good luck w/ the new ride.

I bought an engine cover for my ‘21 as well. The first of many new vehicles purchased that came unfinished. It’s sad the a $25 part couldn’t be justified by Jeep to complete this nice of a vehicle.

I don’t recall seeing anything anywhere indicating an engine cover is standard on any trim.

(That said, I definitely saw an engine cover in at least one of the 4xe First Day videos.)

How difficult is the install?
Very easy to install. It took me no more than 5 minutes. You will need screws that do not come with it. I purchased the cover on Ebay, see attached link and they were kind enough to include the screws. I have purchased several items on Ebay from Golling Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Michigan and the service, quality and turnaround has always been outstanding. https://www.ebay.com/itm/313957525810?epid=2323051906&hash=item491953a932:g:WB4AAOSwg6tiQfmP.

According to that eBay listing: "For WL equipped with 3.6L engines, the Limited and Laredo trim lines are not equipped from the factory with an engine cover. Overland and Summit are equipped from the factory with an engine cover. Engine cover installation is not reimbursable on a shortage and error claim on Limited and Laredo trim levels. "
