eLSD

It was only recently after reading some posts that I realized that my Summit (built in Nov) did not come with the eLSD as advertised and noted under 'RedriderBobs' section of Featured Availability that's included on the new '21 Grand Cherokee L. This factory 'delete' was not brought to my attention when I ordered and when I received my Summit; nor was it reflected on the window sticker openly. Sharp eyes might have notice use of Quadra-Trac vs Quadra-Drive on the WS but still no reference to the eLSD. I didn't even realize that there was a $400 credit given via changing the starting price of the Summit model. It would seem that this feature was standard on the Summit model for a number of years along with the air suspension system and may be one of the big reasons one would purchase a Summit. This delete seems to have impacted a number of 2021 Summit models although that figure is probably only known to Jeep/Stellantis. I'm not sure if this action by Jeep/Stellantis could be considered wrong and that each owner impacted has a legitimate complaint. Are there any options to those impacted besides being disappointed and writing a post? Could the ultimate resolution be simply that each impacted owner pay back this $400 credit that Jeep/Stellantis has allegely given to '21 Summit owners and the eLSD gets installed as originally intended? In conclusion to my venting, I really think that Jeep/Stellantis could have handled this much better than they did.

Like @Indigovic mentioned earlier in other thread, QDII = QTII + ELSD.

$400 is worthless compared to the whole system and how much ur losing with ELSD excluded.

It's kind of like the 750.00 delete credit when they stopped putting the quadra air lift suspension in the vehicles near the end of 21. I would imagine it's their cost and not what they would charge you for it. I have a Summit I just built without it, and never having it before don't miss it.

Jeep tried to sell me a model that I ordered with eLSD removed last year. I walked away (dealer had no issue, and I got my deposit back) .. luckily found my exact spec GCL just an hour a away..
Unsure if you can do anything, especially if Jeep disclosed the removal on the sticker.

Late spring (22) I elected to contact the Atty General’s office and report the eLSD incident. They in turn submitted three separate requests to Stellantis over a three month period. Stellantis refused to respond to the AG’s requests and apparently had no intentions to comment on the eLSD omission in my Summit. This is a terrible way for Stellantis to respond to a legit inquiry by a state agency on behalf of a consumer. This lack of response tone is not good for customer service at any level and might explain some of the frustrations GC L owners share via the WLJeepForum site.

I mean they gave you exactly what was advertised on the window sticker.

I also don't think the elsd really matters for 99% of people. You would need to be in some extreme off-road conditions to care

If you read carefully, Jeep reserves the right to change whatever they want, whenever they want. You have zero legal standing, even if it was a custom order.

You do have legal standing when it violates your states lemon law or kills you due to defect.

You may be right that it does not matter to many people but it is standard equipment on the higher trims. The credit they are giving for the delete is horrible at $400. I personally want what I pay for. If they are not going to deliver it then they need to remove it from their standard equipment list.

You are right to a point ”eleceng1979” Jeep can do whatever they want. That practice may cost them both new customers and those looking to purchase another Jeep over time. I strongly feel that if Jeep or Stellantis elects to do omissions despite what their advertising states the model comes with as standard equipment, then they need to inform the consumer of this omission prior to sealing the deal. In that way you can make a decision to purchase or walk away. Again, I was never informed and only found out via a blog that was shared by a fellow GC L owner that noticed the omission of the eLSD and a cheesy $400 price reduction on the window sticker. (Legal or sneaky)

They probably shouldn't have even given a credit, just remove it as a feature. People would never know they even wanted it. People are very predictable, lol.
