DON'T BUY

Wrecked my 2021 GCL back on 3/2----left front. Was told that parts would be available---WRONG! !!!!!!! I was in the auto damage appraisal business for over 35 years and had heard stories and even experienced parts delays due to new vehicle/ body changes. It now appears that my fender is coming out of Texas (I live outside Atlanta) and my hood is on NATIONAL BACKORDER with possibility of two-three months being 'down'.

I'm looking for USED or even A/Mkt parts to get this thing back on the road.

Over the years, I've purchased FIFTEEN brand spanking new Chrysler products and I'm DISCUSSED!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm about to have the body shop get into 'drivable' condition and drive around with signs that say------'DON'T BUY"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get the fact that he’s disgusted. I understand that the parts should be available. However, not the right avenue to resolve his issue, and the issue isn’t as simple as Jeep sucks. It’s called supply chain. It’s the vaccine mandates that decreased the amount of truckers. It’s the shutdown of our economy by the morons in Washington. It’s the chip crisis and now it’s Ukraine where the gas used for the chips is from. Annual car sales have dropped from 17m to probably 10m this year and that’s due to supply chain.

My new JGC Summit Reserve arrived 2/24 at the dealer and just before it was to be shipped to me they called and said we don’t like the way your nav screen is acting so we ordered a replacement. The part is due this week hopefully. I haven’t had my car since i signed the paperwork. I haven’t complained on the forum. I handled it like an adult. I’ve been in the business for 20 years and this stuff happens all the time. Guess what, whining on here doesn’t fix the problem. In fact 90% of happy customers won’t be found on this forum because they are living life. Those that are constantly on her griping find it to be cathartic. I disagree. I appreciate their pain. I just opt to work directly with the dealer and work on a plan of action. So to those questioning your purchase, I encourage you to do what is best for you but understand, it could happen with any vehicle. In worked for Lexus for years. They had plenty of issues from sludge in engines to electrical. I worked for BMW during the launch of the 745. Talk about to the electrical issues. If you aren’t willing to stomach the headaches of a first model year or two car, then wait.

Telling people not to buy "this" car because parts are hard to come by is absurd. My wife had been waiting 4+ months for parts for her 2020 Yukon that got hit in the rear door. Some parts made it in. Some were still MIA with no estimate on when they might show up. Pretty universal situation right now.

She's enjoying her new Hyundai Palisade.
