Dead GCL 3rd day of owning

Good evening, we took delivery of our 2022 Altitude on Saturday. Today, after a work appointment, my wife goes to leave, and it's basically bricked. The vehicle won't recognize the key fob, using the key to unlock the doors just sets off the alarm, and zero response to the fob. Even tried the old hold the fob to the start button, and nothing. Anyone else with similar issues? Had to have it towed to the local dealer, which unfortunately is not where I purchased it from. They have been helpful, but it is frustrating to have a bricked vehicle on day 3 of owning it. I've had 15 various "Chrysler" products over the last 15 or so years. Reading through just the titles in this forum makes me think I'm in for a treat with this one.

Thought it was telling when I finally got a hold of the Jeep Wave people, and when they saw I had a 2022 Grand Cherokee L, the next thing they said was - "you need a rental?".

Seems like you get a pos or one with no issues. Most issues seem to be software based and unfortunately their doesnt seem to be a real cure. Most with issues report Uconnect, wireless car play, android auto, bluetooth, navigation, power steering, service 4x4, rattles, squeaks, drained battery, infotainment system randomly shutting off, steering wheel controls not responding, rattling speakers and I'm sure I missed a few.

Just to name a few

Congrats on becoming a member of the lemon club. Not only am I a spokesperson, I am also another victim of Jeep’s horrible new platform.

1. Return it for a refund and run
2. Sell it and run
3. Sue them and run

Your choice. It doesn’t get better with age like a wine, it’s more like a terminal illness.

The grand wagoneers are shredding transfer cases and rear differentials on top of similar issues as GCL. Good times

Not shilling for these lawyers, just a good read on the process at a high level. I don’t know these folks or have used them. Just Google how to initiate a vehicle buyback

We have had the same EXACT issue with our 2022 Grand Cherokee on Day #3!!! Service ordered a new module and said it should be fixed in 7 days. Now I’m getting another recall alert that says parts unavailable. So upsetting after just purchasing a new car!!!

Hey, this same exact thing happened to me on day 5. The dealer sent a tech, they said it has been happening to jeeps and they are able to temporarily fix it by disconnecting the batteries (under the driver and passenger seats) for 15 minutes to allow the computers to reset. Similar to resetting a router. The shop foreman for the dealer believes it is a fragmentation issue with the computers from having different updates and not fully turning off. By disconnecting the batteries, it acts like a hard reset.

It's not a computer issue. There is/will be a recall, but unfortunately there part is not available yet.

Seems as though there was a "campaign" update on the Mopar recall website posted today as "Z25". Couldn't download the PDF. But it says (copy and pasted)

Campaign Description
2022 WL RFHM Offline
Repair Description
For more information please refer to the Owner Recall Notification by selecting the FCA Campaign #
Campaign Status
Incomplete but repair parts are not available
