cruise control

Is the spring tension on the gas pedal too weak? I always keep my foot on or near the gas pedal when using cruise control. This has never been an issue with any car/truck I have owned until now. Unfortunately, I am unintentionally increasing the vehicle speed overriding the cruise speed setting. There is no tactile feeling that the accelerator is moving when this happens. For example, today, I had the cruise set on 70, and after some period of time, I noticed some wind noise and then glanced at the speedometer to find a speedometer reading of 89mph.

Has anyone else experienced this same issue? It seems the only way I can work around this is to put my foot flat on the floorboard, which is uncomfortable and reduces my reaction time to brake or accelerate.

I am guessing it is drive by wire, meaning there is no physical connection or feedback like there used to be. I have noticed it myself, but keep my left foot on the dead pad and my right sitting on the heel in front of the brake while on cruise. Placing a foot flat, on long drives/regular basis is a good way to get DVT/blood clot. I tend to move my feet around as I drive, tapping, flexing/ankle rolls just to keep blood flow.

You should also get a 'driver override' message on the screen in front of the driver. But if you're not looking at that screen, you woudn't see the message or your speed. Generally, I keep my foot away from the accelerator if I'm on cruise control.

Not saying your way of driving with cruise control is wrong, like you said you have done it like this with other vehicles, but what's the point on leaving your foot on the gas pedal if you are driving on the highway. In any event it should be or or near the brake pedal.
My point is that it may be too sensitive but there's no real advantage or rest for you if are not able to relax your feet on cruise control.
Mine works perfect, its one of the things I enjoy the most as it can steer on highways and it feels safe. I'm always alert looking forward but I do rest my foot far the gas pedal.

Does your 'self-driving' assist drive like a drunken toddler sometimes? Mine would absolutely get me pulled over and breathalized much of the time. Then you can pull off and get gas (cycling the ignition), and get back on the same exact highway and it drives fine (sunny day, no excuses/reasons).

not at all
I've read your posts before about this, you definitely have too many issues with your electronics and sensors.
My self driving assist works pretty well on both state roads and highways staying within the lane without bouncing around.

Thanks for the reply; Good to know, I guess, that it's one more thing that's broken, vs 'that's as good as it gets'.
