Continuous Power Outlet (USB)?

Hi fellow owners:

I can't for the life of me figure this out. My Nexar dash cam works best with a 'continuous power outlet' but I can't tell or find any docs if the USB ports in the center dash (below the screen) are continuous, or if they shut off after x time from stopping the car.

Would you have any info on this? I've searched and searched.

Thanks!

The one power outlet in the cubby and located near the usb ports is ignition on powered only. The one located in the far right panel in the cargo area is battery powered. Each cover has a logo matching how the power is supplied i.e. via the ignition (key) or battery. I also think there is a way to change the source of power by moving a fuse located in the under hood fuse/relay box. I defer to the owners Manuel on that option to see if it can be done to both or just one power outlet. Good Luck

There are pictures next to each outlet. If it has a key it only works when the key is on.

Is the camera supposed to be hooked up to 12VDC? The power outlets are 12VDC, but I believe that USB outlets are only 5VDC.

Check out my thread about the trunk's 12v outlet fuse. The manual lies and switching the fuse just kills the power to the outlet.

Cheers,
