Canada Pricing and Dealers in Greater Toronto Area

Hello,

I am in the market for a 3 row SUV and the GCL is high up on the list (though I will say the plethora of problems being reported is off putting). If anyone has any tips or pointers on Canadian dealers in the GTA or beyond I would sure appreciate it. I see threads for certain us dealers where people are getting cars below invoice. Is that possible in the great white north. I can take the wait for an order, but cannot wait a couple of years if that is how long it takes for the market to settle down.....

Also I would be interested in anyone who has done a deep dive into plus minus of a Laredo vs. Limited. I need a tow hitch (not that likely to tow but will definitely be using cargo carrier etc for road trips with our four not teenage kids). like many GCL's its not going to be offroaded except up and down some sometimes gruesome tracks into and out of vacation rentals.... I tend to keep my cars a long time (is that a mistake with Jeep - I am coming from an Odyssey) and am tempted to just pull the trigger on an Overland, but dealers are displaying prices in the range of 79k (tax in) for a limited and over 90k (tax in) for an overland......

I have searched the forum for information but have not been able to find so much Canadian specific info.

Thanks.

I ordered the 2 row version JGC Overland outside of Toronto. I used CarCostCanada.com as a way to understand dealer invoice pricing. It will also link you to a dealer as a partner in your area. I was able to get $5,400 below MSRP. Two other dealers offered $3,000 and and $3,300 off MSRP. A 4th offered $1,100 off . Options and trim levels can affect dealer discounts.

A lot of the complaints you hear are early production vehicles. I reviewed all the TSB's and almost all of them predated December, 2021. Not saying there are not more issues, but none published by Jeep. You can view TSB's at NHSTA.gov. I believe Limited has a tow hitch as standard.

I’ve been factory ordering all my Jeeps since 2016 from SevenView in Vaughan. They’ve been very competitive and often can get close to invoice pricing. My 2022 2 row is currently on order with them as well! Send me a PM if you need more information. Happy to send you to the sales manager whom I know very well.

I have attached the following Canada Feature List for you. This will be a fairly compressive list of the differences of all trim levels from Laredo to Summit. I was wrong earlier, Tow is Standard on Overland and up. Option on Laredo and Limited. Hope this helps.

Thanks Sunny - pm sent.

Phoenix, thanks as well. I will confess the canadian Jeep web page has not been working so well for me re displaying all the features of each trim....

I'm poking around the market just like you. I've been holding on to my cars as well, and probably have the same budget/needs in mind as you when it comes to the Laredo/Limited question. Coming from '07 Mercedes GL which I factory ordered. I'm in the West, tho.

I despise leather seats and especially black interiors in general, so that leaves me with a bit of a conundrum: go Limited to get a beige interior, or take black cloth seats? BUT Canadian dealers seem to only ever order black interiors, and Mfgs only make black on lower trims. Also all manual passenger seat on the Laredo may be hard sell for wife.

I think for me, the Laredo (not that Altitude thing) with tow and lux might be my sweet spot. Love idea of single pane sunroof on Laredo, so would want that, too. Trick would be to find one. ($59,200 optioned like that)

If I went Limited, you still need to add sunroof and tow, and a tech package if you want say even, rain-sensing wipers. That's 9,000 more for better colours and limited additional vehicle functionality. All the dealers seem to order the bench seat (lived with that for 15 years, not again) and really ugly 20" wheels that will give a worse ride and cost more for tires. Been there before, too, not interested. So, if I take all the unwanted Limited features that dealers are ordering it is over 11,000 more. Plus, you gotta pay tax on all that extra junk. ($70,200)

So the math is pretty easy for me. I can live with a black cloth interior to save, $11,000 plus tax... plus interest. All the Limited features like real leather, traction programs, blinkers on the mirrors, rear heated seats, done that already on various cars, and my life is no better for it. Certainly not eleven grand better. Trick will be finding a correctly optioned unit to hit my sweet spot.

YMMV.

Yes, as crazy as it sounds one of the worst things about the Laredo is the manual passenger......For me the bench seat is a plus as I have 4 kids (3 at home) and I may have times when i want to put three across the bench to fold down rear seats.....I agree with you on the larger wheels. I do not need harsher ride or more dollars for tires......Going to for a test drive tomorrow. I will be cross shopping the Japanese and (if i can find one to drive) Korean competition.

Was this an order the dealer already had in the pipeline? If this was a factory order just for you that would be a really quick delivery.. Good price, enjoy your wheels.

Wow. Looks great!

My other car is a blacked out suburban, and I'm kinda done with that look. Otherwise, NICE RIDE!

Funny they gave you Canadian Tire stuff from the dealer... Maybe the get a deal.
