Some type of glitch. I had mine flash randomly while driving on one trip. After I stopped and turned the car off and on it stopped flashing. Hasn’t happened again thankfully
So many electrical things randomly fail and then work fine again for long periods on this car. It's unreal. I've had my hatch fail, my suspension drop in front, my wipers go nuts, so many things I forget... but just once or twice. Lots of other things totally failed (Nav, XM, CarPlay, HVAC, etc), but at least that stuff can hopefully be fixed. All this other weird stuff is impossible to diagnose when it's working fine. So much uncertainty in this car. You never know what's next.
My battery was dead and I put it on a charger. I started it up the next day. It took a few minutes for everything to cycle through, but I too have the blinking odometer. Everything else is working OK including my settings. I hate to go to the dealer for such a minor issue. Did anyone come up with a simple fix since the last postings?
Mine did this after the dealer had to pull the center console to replace a chipped trim piece. They told me to bring it back and they fixed it in 5 minutes. I don’t know what they did but it was a simple fix.
Essentially, this thing is a computer on wheels and the blinking odometer is a ECU miscommunication error. turn off the car and restart it. That should clear it.
