App is useless ?

Had my GCL HEMI Since August. App has worked fine - remote start, lock / unlock - all good. Since Friday- useless. I had a six month subscription so I don’t think * that’s the issue. Anyone else having issues? I just reinstalled the app - still useless. Any help?
Thanks!

App has been broke for me since September. It worked the week my dealer had my vehicle connected to diagnostic equipment, then stopped working when returned to me.

I actually called the number on the app. They will “call me back tomorrow “. That was two days ago. Nada

Just tried mine and it’s working. It was down a couple weeks ago for a day. Now the app isn’t working fully since you can’t see the fuel or mileage and that stuff. Spoke with uconnect a few days ago and was told that functionality is still not turned on for the new GCL. Coming from a ford I gotta say the app isn’t as good.

It's turned on for some people. Seems to be about 50/50 for who has fuel capacity and who doesn't.

I'm confused about this.
I have an APP on my phone that has a black circle with "Jeep" across the middle. Is this what you refer to or is there another? The APP doesn't show any kind of miles or gas in the tank. It displayed the Y79 recall, but now the recall says "Dismissed"

Yes that's the correct app for the GCL. There are 2 different versions, some people have fuel and mileage others do not. Just depends if Jeep has you in the beta testing group or something like that.

Thanks. Not that I need my phone to know how much gas I have. I don't like to be left out if I payed something.

My Jeep app starting showing the additional information last week, shortly after I took the vehicle to the dealership for several software updates, including one for the radio. Here are the updates performed:

TSB #08-174-21 (Radio/SOS)
Recall Y79
RRT 21-169 (Power Steering)
Flash for ORC
Flash for EPS

My whole Uconnect system is FUBAR, so I don't see how the app could work anyway. Then I've heard things like 'don't connect it to your home wifi (the car)' if you're not on Android, etc. Who knows. Nothing Uconnect-related works properly on this car. Total electrical lemon.

"In your car"

Lots of people have zero u connect problems. It's just luck of the draw.

Mine worked fine for the first few days, only had the screen black out once in that time, and then it just got worse and worse. It's had all the updates but to absolutely no avail. They've ordered a new 'stereo' for it (whatever that means) but that won't be here until at least mid January at the earliest. Such a massively infuriating disappointment after shelling out $75k+.

One of the key motivations for choosing this over the Tahoe was the McIntosh audio. Now I can't even listen to it, and when it did work it had a terrible rattle at certain frequencies from inside the door panel, which they can't fix because the stereo won't work anyway. Very unhappy.

I’d say this is an incorrect statement. Most people have issues, it’s just a matter of how much does it actually bother them.
From what I've read, some of us have some defective hardware in the mix. My screen is constantly flashing on and off and rebooting, making it impossible to use the main Uconnect screen. If you're lucky enough to get wired carplay or audio to connect, you have to control the music, etc, with the phone. The screen just keeps doing various forms of crash/cycle/reboot/flicker/shut off/etc.

It has all the latest updates and the dealer can't get it to work either, so they ordered a variety of new parts. I'll update what those parts are if it fixes it, but they won't be available until mid/late January...

I didn’t buy a $75K lottery ticket. The point is these luck of the draw issues should not exist. Machines don’t have moods or quirks, they are called defects.

When you overhaul a software platform, take it away from Sirius whom used to haul the mail to make Uconnect work, then develop your own software in order to create a revenue stream in order to charge us owners a fee to use it, and it doesn’t work at all for some of us unlucky, people get pissed. In the name of greed FCA has done this, not for feature enhancements. Which compounds my amount of frustration. I’m glad FCA builds cars not airplanes. We all know how that story would end.

Update: 6 days later, they called and LM. I called back within 3 minutes and after 8 minutes on hold, I was told my “ case manager “ had left for the day but would call me tomorrow. It was 4pm EST. Not sure I need a “case manager” but I digress. I was told I would get a CB today. ,Nothing. If your going to load a car up with technology and it’s only 85% baked, and you sell at list price, and it a flagship vehicle, you really should have impeccable owner support. This is my seventh Grand Cherokee (seriously) - I started in 1993. I have four jeep products in my driveway right now ( including a 1978 CJ7) and I think I’m done. This car was 10k more than I paid for my X5 and the BMW dealer treated me like I was part of a club. Hell, they invited me to events! Jeep is dropping the ball. In this day and age, when technology is so good, don’t put a product out ther until it’s actually ready. I’m really concerned about how this car will age. I’ll be moving on once my warranty is up.

BTW- my GCL is currently 100 miles way and the app says it’s in my driveway. I’ve reinstalled 3 times this week. I’m not even mentioning the cycling screen blackouts etc. again / how is this thing going to age?

Just curious Sarge: where have you seen the info that some have received defective hardware? That’s the first time I’ve seen that posted.
