Anyone not get a trailer hitch that was supposed to get one?

The big question should be what will the tow capacity be when the hitch and harness are installed?
Jeep Cares said the Trailer Tow Package was removed because of the chip shortage. If this is the case, in addition to the wiring harness and receiver hitch, wouldn't there need to be a new "chip" somewhere? Something doesn't add up.

I was able to confirm via the "Jeep Connect" app that I should have the larger alternator. @Bobolikesjeeps, funny you, mention the tow hitch capacity. On the web-site the tow package says that it includes a class 4 receiver while the one that is on the mopar site is a class 3. So I am not 100 percent but it seems like getting it installed after the fact will likely end up in a lower-class receiver.

Has anyone figured out exactly which parts would be needed? Searching online I see the hitch which should be the main piece but there are also some brackets as well as the electrical connector and I don’t know if it needs any other cables or parts.

Anyone get a full list of part numbers needed?

I got quotes from 2 different dealers and they specified these two parts. You can get find the same part numbers at a discount if you shop around online.

Hitch Receiver - Mopar (82216037AB)
MSRP - 395

Wiring Harness (82216041AB)
MSRP - 300

The dealer I bought my car from quoted 1080 for labor and another Jeep dealer in my neighborhood quoted me 568.

After looking at the installation instructions for the WL Hitch Receiver - Mopar (82216037AB) and Trailer Tow Wiring - Mopar (82216041AB), my conclusion is to let the dealer do it as it is more complex than just bolting on the receiver. Also the Vehicle VIN must be updated with the XF2 sales code of the added accessory to enable system functionality.

I finally ended up with a completely different Overland... I found one with the hitch AND the air suspension AND the advanced technology package. More money but what I wanted in the first place...

I recently had my 20 year old F150 tranny go out and decided to replace it with a Jeep GCL due to its tow rating. I found a 2021 4x4 with the tow-prep package an hour away and went to purchase it. I spent a couple of hours at the dealership and talked to the salesman and several employees about using the GCL to pull my boat. This past weekend, I went to hook it up to my boat, and was surprised to find that there was no receiver or wiring under the bumper cover. I then discovered the fraud that Jeep has been perpetrating on consumers and I am so disapointed in my purchase. Being that I have had the vehicle for 2 weeks, I am sure the dealership will not take it back. I have someone at the dealership working on a solution, but I am not hopeful they will volunatrily fix the issue for free. I am going to wait and see what they do. If the dealer does not make me happy, I will install an aftermarket and sue them for the cost in small claims court. This is a horrible and misleading business practice. I am also going to contact the Federal Trade Commission, because this is just outright fraud on consumers who thought they were getting "Tow Ready" vehicle with this package Very bad idea for Jeep to treat people this way and sad that they ruin a $55k purchase over $500 in parts.
