Anyone know what features we still have once all the rental apps/features run out?

As I sit here with my defective U-can't-Connect system, I've been reading more about all of the 'features' I thought I paid cash to own and enjoy, which turn out to be 'rental software'. None of that was disclosed to me by any sales people, ever.

While I expected Sirius XM to stop working after a year or whatever, it looks like even the self-driving assist is rental ware (a rented drunk driver, can't wait to pay for more of that), as is a lot of others stuff (bluetooth music streaming, remote app start, vehicle location, nav map updates, SOS calls, in car wifi, CarPlay, etc etc).

Does anyone have a clear understanding of what we actually OWN forever on these cars, and what magically gets taken away after X months (unless we pay for the ransomware)? The corporate sites seem geared toward older models with older systems, and it sounds like they're shifting toward making everything into rental features (which I completely and utterly LOATHE). And all of this despite the fact that they presumably keep invading your privacy by collecting data on your driving habits, locations, etc. and sharing it with anyone willing to pay for it (ie insurance companies, advertisers, etc).

I have inquired with their legal department about some of this as well. It's really disconcerting how difficult it is to get clear answers.

Which expiring package do you think the Active Driving Assist System is part of? That's news to me. Same question for bluetooth and CarPlay.

Wow okay...I should have paid more attention to your previous posts. Is your vehicle a 2022? Most of the users here have 2021 vehicles. It's not hands free and there is no additional charge for it.
I take in a LOT of GCL marketing and had not seen ANY warning about the hands free being an additional charge. Yes, you ahve reason to be pissed. Glad I didn't wait for a 2022 (among other reasons).
So maybe you really DO have Start/Stop on your Hemi.

Nope, mine's a 2021. That's just what the screen shows when I'm logged into the Jeep App (laptop web browser version).

Only 21's with the Pro Tech III package have the assisted self-driving feature (along with night vision, etc), unless it's maybe a Summit or Summit Reserve, which maybe has all of that standard? You have to keep your skin or a knee touching the wheel, but it steers itself on the highway or any road where it can see the lines (or even just the center line). It's not very good at driving much of the time (like a drunk driver), but I never would have imagined it was just a 'rental' feature. That's what their site indicates, though.

Hands free active driving is definitely only reserved for MY22. I have a 21 Summit and don’t see those Hands Free services. Then again my Vehicle Performance section only had 4 services, not 6 like yours. Probably why I am missing all the health reports and “extra” data on the app. Super frustrating

On my Overland, I have the 'lane keeping assist' which is the same thing the prior gen had, but with the added tech package, I have night vision and actual self-driving assist, which requires that I have a hand or leg at least very lightly touching the wheel, and it will actively steer the car to keep it in its lane. (sometimes it drives well, other times, for no apparent reason, it will weave back and forth within its lane). I thought all Summits had this, but it may also be an option on the Summit and only standard on the Summit reserve. I bought the only silver V8 Overland on the lot nationwide with that equipment, so I don't suspect it's very common. (flew from WY to AR to get it, and was searching nationwide).
