Mine has been pretty much FUBAR from new. Defroster only defrosts when set to ‘max defrost’, cold air coming out of the footwells when it’s set to 80 and it’s -10F outside. Max defrost is a blast furnace, so you’re sweating balls pretty quickly, but if you switch it back to just the regular defrost button the air turns cool no matter the setting, the fan speed is much lower, and the windows fog up again quickly. So I can be driving in a snowstorm and have to crack the windows and roof, letting snow in, just to cool the car down and be able to see out the front.
Dealer couldn’t find a solution.
Sometimes it turns warm, but there’s cold air still wafting around from somewhere. Second row floor vent wasn’t installed right - just sitting under the seat but not connected to the duct, and not secured in any way. Center console second row vents weren’t blowing at all, dealer found the ducting wasn’t connected to that either.
Even after connecting the ducting my center console is an oven; my phone charger and cup holders are up to 135F and I’ve seen the cubby get up around 150F or more. And that’s after they connected the ducts.
My outdoor temp sensor often reads 20-30f below the actual temp, triggering the seat heaters and wheel heater to come on and hot air from the vents.
The other day I had the temps set on LO on all screens/sections and it was blowing 115F heat through the vents. The outside temp was around 50F but the car thought it was 33F, but regardless if the temps are set to low and the AC isn’t on, it should be blowing roughly whatever the outside ambient temp is.
Like I said: FUBAR.
It seems to me that all the ducting is still not connected right, the blend motor isn’t working properly, the temp sensors are defective, etc.
And that’s just my HVAC problems. It doesn’t remotely end there…
