Reading the article linked below makes it real concerning if a Grand Cherokee 4xe ( or any 4xe buyer ) will get any EV tax credit by the time this thing ships.
The new bill proposed ( as apart of the Build Back Better bill ) will make it that very few plug in hybrids are eligible; they have to have no more then a 2.5 Gal gas tank to get anything at all....and even then, the Battery Capacity in the 4xe Jeep does not meet the new minimum capacity requirement of 40 kWh.
Not trying to get political, but I am not sure we can bet on an EV tax credit being here buy the time we all get our 4xe Grand Cherokee's. I was looking to that possible 7.5k capital cost reduction on the leases that I see folks get.
My only hope is if they do pass it, possibly early next year, it would not impact the 2022 tax year. Whereas we would all have one extra year to make purchase decisions.
The second I am allowed to; I plan to put an order in for a Silver Summit Reserve 4xe.
