33s on the beast

I put 33" tires on my GCL

18" KMC KM535 GRENADE OFF-ROAD 18x8.5 +0mm Matte Gray Black

33" LT265/70R18 Falken Wildpeak A/T3W

There was some trimming involved but it all took a couple hours and still looks factory. Oem wheel offset is +50mm so I punched it out to a 0mm offset and cleared the knuckle. I'm pretty sure I can fit 34s and 35s but a 35 might just look silly.

I'll put a couple photos of the trimming but if yall want to know more lemme know or message me on Instagram @ChiefWL.

Looks great! How much meat was left in that pinch weld? Any concern with contact to the fenders? Any lift? More pics of the process would be greatly appreciated. Not many people have started mods yet.

I just picked up a 21 Limited L and want it to look like a Jeep.

I'd like to see photos of the clearance with the weird suspension arm design. Sounds like 0 offset (vs +56 OEM) was enough to push the tires out past that knuckle? If so, 56mm spacers (or less) would allow 33" tires on stock wheels?

I wonder how long before someone comes out with fender flares for these, given the issues with that knuckle.

I am a complete noob in this whole wheel/tire thing so apologies for this dumb question. Why is the trimming needed? Is it because the +0mm makes an arc when the wheels are turned and hence it was touching the inner body? The reason I am asking is because I have the same Summit and just ordered the 20" Fuel Off road Reaction wheels which has +20mm offset (as opposed to +50mm stock offset) with 265/50/20 (same as stock) Toyo AT3 tires. Just wondering ahead of time whether I would need trimming too or not.

You’ll probably be fine

I doubt it, there’s a guy on the Facebook group who put 1.5” spacers on his stock 20s and I don’t believe he had rubbing. I could be wrong but I think 1.5” spacer would be pretty close to a wheel with 12-13mm offset

Post up a picture when you get your tires on. I'm curious to see what the clearance is like with a 20mm offset.

Did you ever end up getting these installed?

Ok, so finally got the wheels and tires. Fuel off road Reaction wheels. Almost the same spec as the stock ones with a little twist, they are 20x9 +20mm offset. I wanted Toyo AT3 tires but seems like they are back ordered. So instead I went with Falken Wildpeak A/T as they were in stock. I kept the exact same size for the tires as stock i.e 265/50/R20. And literally less than 12 hours of putting the new setup I had to go to the trails lol. So please excuse the "dirty pic". But as someone once told me, it's a damn Jeep, if it's clean that means it's not in the right place 😂.

So as for the wheels I did have a wider wheel (9 instead of 8.5) and also the with offset (+20 instead of +20). I don't have any back rubbing or anything but I do see that I am dangerously close to the back fender. When I was up in the trail I realized that the tire can actually rub the fenders in an off camber situation out in the wild but at the same time that means if I am in a trail I am most likely on the OR2 suspension height setting so that shouldn't be a problem. True, I can always cut the fender and do more crazy stuff but TBH, I just don't want to go that route on a $70k SUV.

From an aesthetic point of view, I wheel does pop out of the body as expected. Although I would loved it go out a little more but not too much where it would need a fender flare or else it will look awkward. But considering the fender limitation, I think I can live with it for now.

All in all, loving the Jeep so far 😍😍😍

Wow. Those are something else! You should find a shop to wrap the chrome bits (grill, window trim) in the same red color to tie it all together. This place has the precut blackout wrap, they might be able to supply a custom color, since you can get vinyl in almost any shade you want.

Can you post a photo from this angle, to better show what the offset looks like, re how flush the tires are to the bodywork, with the 20x9 ET20 configuration?

Those look great! I like the rims too, I considered those in that color last year for my sting gray gladiator but they were still very new and couldn't find pictures of them.
