2022 JGC SR Tire Size?

First "NEW" car (patiently awaiting arrival) - want to make sure it is equipped to fit my needs.

85% of the my travel will be on paved roads - with the other 15% on bumpy gravel roads in the north east. Absolutely no bouldering or heavy off-road stuff. But decent sized pot-holes, rocks, bumps etc are in play.

Would the stock 20" tires with the Quadra Lift be satisfactory here? If not does the SR even support 18" tires?

Total newbie question - appreciate any response.

Thanks -

Yes, 18" wheels will fit the SR. I got a set for off-road but test fit the wheel prior to mounting the tire just to be on the safe side. There is very little clearance with the calipers.

Thanks for the replies - - in your experience and my somewhat frequent (10x per year) trips on long gravel/bumpy roads - would you recommend I swap the 20" out?

While you can ask a dozen people and get 13 opinions - the one that matters is yours. With that said, and since you asked, here's my take. I'm in Arizona. I have two sets of wheels/tires - a set of 21" Vossens with Pilot Sport A/S for summer/street. They provide a touch firmer and responsive feel on the road and I find them to add to the look. The 2nd set is the 18" Fuel Wheels with Toyo Open Country III which are triple peak/snowflake rated that I'll use when off roading and in winter when we have snow in the high country of AZ. I can tell you that I noticed a significant difference in the ride with the 18's over the 21's - the extra sidewall helps a great deal. I also was surprised that the Toyo's were only slightly louder on the road than the Pilot Sport 2's - barely noticeable. Considering you are going to be frequently on gravel/rough roads, the extra sidewall that the 18's have over your 20's will make a difference not only in ride, but the likelyhood of a flat or worse yet a bent rim would have me going with the 18's.
I'm sure there are others who will chime in and some with opposing opinions/experiences with their 20's on rough/gravel roads - but for me, I'm about minimizing risk of a failure when you in the boonies on a backroad.

Excellent and thank you! Your ride looks sick, btw. Extremely jealous.

Can you share the specs of those Vossens? assuming VFS-1's. did you go 9"? what was the offset? Really digging these wheels.

Thanks!
I considered both the HF-3 and the HF-1 I liked them both and it nearly came down to a flip of the coin - in the end I went with the HF-3's
They are 21x9.5with a +17 and +28 offset.

Love this! I am in Phoenix with a 21 JGCL SR and looking at doing a second set of wheels and tires for off road. I am somewhat of a noob so I'm wondering what the specs are on the tires. you used I was looking at a set of 285/60R18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Any feedback on going that wide? Feasible?

Does anyone know if an Summit can be ordered with 18" rather than 20" wheels, or do the 20s need to be sold and the 18s bought separately? Since there still seems to be a hangup with the Off Road package on the Overland, and the skidplates that I want can't be ordered separately, It seems that the 4xe is another way to get them since they're used to protect the battery. In that case, I'd try for the tan interior color which is only available on the Summit and SR. Can 18s be ordering in a Summit configuration?

I can't be certain that a 285/60 will fit without rubbing. I went with a 18x9 with a +20 offset. Kept them as close to stock as possible as I didn't want to have to do and trimming or wheel spacers. The tires are 265/60's (toyo open country A/T III)

There's a thread someplace here that is about what others have done with aftermarket tire size fitment.

Do any of you who have gone with a lower than stock offset have any issues with rubbing, especially with that crazy steering knuckle? I've picked out an 18 Inch +40 wheel for my SR for part time winter/offroad tires and I just want to make sure there won't be any issues. +40 doesn't seem like that much of a difference from stock, but I've never seen a knuckle like this one before...
