2022 GC Limited - Options Order Struggle!

Hey All!

I am trying to order a 2022 GC Limited. I want to add the black appearance package, lux tech group II, Dual Pane sunroof, 10.1" upgraded UConnect package and the Front Passenger Interactive Display.

The dealer told me the front interactive display and black appearance package weren't options. I told him yes they were. After a day he came back and said he found the front interactive display but not the black appearance package, so I told him to add the rear entertainment package instead. He came back and said that wasn't an option. This is the 4th dealership saying these options are not available when they are because I have seen them on this trim level.

Does anyone have the Sales/Order code or has had one ordered for them that can share with me the codes for either the Black Appearance Package or the Rear Entertainment Package for the Limited Trim level GC?

Black Appearance Package and Rear-Seat Entertainment are indeed both supposed to be available on Limited. Ordering code for Black Appearance on Limited is ”ALC.“ Rear-Seat Entertainment has not yet been orderable onany trim level.

At launch of the ‘22 model year, the passenger screen was also unavailable as an option, though the Summit Reserves (where they‘re standard equipment) always had them, so it clearly wasn’t a technology issue; that leads me to suspect it is (or at least was) a supply issue.

After a while, they added the passenger screen option for the other trim levels, but still not the rear screen. That makes sense to me if their supply is improving but still limited: since the rear entertainment option requires two screens, reserving their supply only for passenger screens means they can satisfy twice as many customers with the same number of parts.

On the other hand, I could be totally wrong. The delay in offering the rears certainly could be a technology issue, since it has additional features the passenger screen doesn’t have, like Fire TV and the “Are We There Yet?” app.

Ahhhh!! I see. That makes sense. Strange times for car buying for sure...

Yes, the dealer just got back to me and confirmed that the "ALC" is just for the L (3-row) model Grand Cherokees. Not the (2-row). So far in my travels of trying to order a 2022 Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 (2-row) the only options that are not available to order are the rear-seat entertainment system and the black appearance package. I was able to order every other options package for the Limited trim. Just an FYI for anyone ordering a limited (2-row) any time soon. The dealer had no idea why he couldn't see those options and also had no idea when they would be able to order those as well.
