2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L problem with Uconnect box

Hi everyone!

I have 2021 GCL for three weeks and has problem with Uconnect box. This message always appears when I turn on car. Dealers don't have idea how to fix it.

Hi, looks like there is a star case for this issue. Take it to a dealer, make sure you reference this case.

Hi everyone!

I have 2021 GCL for three weeks and has problem with Uconnect box. This message always appears when I turn on car. Dealers don't have idea how to fix it.
After a week with my GCL I started having problems with the Uconnect software, could not see WiFi Hotspot password, could not use remote functions and a couple of times I got that same error message. I contacted Uconnect support and around a week after all issues were resolved. Didn't have to do anything on my side although I did reset the system a couple of times without any luck.
 
Update to case. After visiting three dealers I was informed that there is a problem with Telematic Module soft. It was October, new soft should be available by the end of Q4 2021. Jeep release update on 12.24. I updated in January but it didn't help much. Another visit and I was informed that antenna with module is broken and need to be replaced. After replacing in march problem was finally solved.

Had the Connect ECU replaced in mine b/c I had no functionality at all via the screen, and not even stereo volume worked, much less anything else. Fixed most of it, but there are still issues like occasional flickering, Wireless CarPlay is totally unreliable, wired CarPlay is very recalcitrant, too, etc. Can't connect my phone probably 1/3 of the time. All sorts of other electrical issues remain too. Fortunately mine is getting bought back soon...

My buyback is already approved. Still waiting on a reply for the replacement vehicle deal (my state only allows pure buybacks, so I'm working between their executive referral manager in the customer care department and the buyback department to try to come to a deal on a replacement.) I'm not in a huge hurry as I'm also hoping/waiting on Midnight Sky for a color, and I'll be in Africa for all of July, so no big rush.

How's your WL treating you?

Just dropped off my vehicle for the same "Uconnect Box requires service" message. I've had the vehicle for over a year and only started seeing this message after I had the windshield replaced, sensors recalibrated, and inspection/emissions done last month. Sometimes the message comes on at startup, sometimes part way into the drive, sometimes multiples times after I dismiss it every 10 min or so. And sometimes I've gone on drives and the message never comes up. The dealer service dept is working with STAR on a fix to what they've been told is an engineering issue and part of an ongoing project. They want to take apart the dash and get pictures as STAR has requested them to do. This doesn't sound good for what seems like a software issue to me.

What are your chances that everything will be put back exactly the way it came from the factory? I cringe to think. Good luck anyway.

UPDATE: Dealer kept it for 2 days trying to diagnose the issue. I asked them to put it back together the way it was... I needed my car back. They actually did a good job of putting it back and does not appear to have caused any damage. They said they need to order a part, because they think it is a bad cellular box. In the meantime, I took it on vacation last week driving over 1,000 miles and have not seen the message appear again. Maybe it's a fluke and it will come back one day, but until then I'm not going to have them trying to replace anything on it.
