I had this for the first time at about 17k miles. Definitely seemed to be the noise cancellation or something electronic. It would go away immediately if I opened a window and then come back when I closed it. Parked the Jeep and next time I drove it it was gone anod hasn’t come back.

I get the same shudder but it’s not just when cold. Uphill at very little throttle it even gives a bit of a spark knock sound. Pretty annoying but oh well.

Kinda looks that way. I like the mopar skid but am a bit disappointed it didn’t come with a metal cover for the drain plug. It has a giant cut out and two holes like there should be one. Probably just have to make my own I guess.

Agreed. Best thing you can do with the QT2 during tire spin is to hold the throttle pretty consistently and the Jeep will figure it out. A basic mountain trail will be cake.

If you are going to be seeing any rocks in the near future then I'd recommend getting number 2 (#1 for a V8) on the diagram. The "skid plate" that is there from the factory is just a brace and is quite thin and flexible. Unfortunately jeep doesn't offer a skid that will protect the whole tranny...

I have a little bit of that downshift issue as well. I don't think it's quite as bad as what you're experiencing. It's intermittent but definitely annoying when it happens.

What shifting issues are you having?

I got all the skids and everything seems to be correct except I can't figure out number 1 in the illustration. I thought it would end up being a tranny skid since it has two cut outs that look like they would be for a drain plug but it doesn't seem to fit anywhere. Any thoughts on where this...

If anyone in the NC area is interested in a set of Overland rims and tires (265/50/20) I'm selling mine. 5,000 miles on them. You'll have to swap over your TPMS. If you'd rather buy a new set of TPMS, I left the bead off the front so you don't have to have a shop install them. $1000.

I was happy to see you could actually get the parts so I ordered all the skids as well. People should note that the skid for the front is different for the V8 and V6 and way more expensive for whatever unknown reason. The other skids may be different as well but I didn't look too closely.

Rims are 8".

I was inspired by this setup so I pulled the trigger myself. I didn't want quite as aggressive of an offset but I definitely didn't like how the stock rims sat so far inside the wheel well. These are also 265/65/18s. Offset is +35.

I get about 20 mpg on highway trips and average 15-16 in normal driving on my V8. The cylinder deactivation makes a noise similar to spark knock when it's engaged around town. Do you experience that as well?
