If you do not have the tow package, then your max towing capacity is probably reduced due to the fact the truck may not have the heavier duty trans cooler and suspension. It says on page 181 that if you have the 3.6 V6 with light duty cooling, then the max towing is 3500lbs.

Edit: from the Owner's Manual: "Vehicles not factory-equipped with the trailer tow package are limited to 3,500 lb (1,588 kg) GTW and 350 lb (158 kg) TW."

A lot of us ordered our WLs with "trailer tow prep group", whuch gave you bigger alternator, bigger radiator, and rear load levelling suspension. I would think those would have the 6,200/7,200 referenced above.
I got the Trailer tow prep group, package 22e, and it doesn't say anything about a larger radiator, or altenator, at least it doesn't on the window sticker.

You get heavy duty cooling(not sure if that means a larger radiator or not) and a larger alternator. Go to this website and put in your VIN after the = in the address:
