This...... I am going to screwed on my trade is my fear.. oh well. I just want the damn thing...They can do whatever they want.
Now, if your dealer is fair they should hold the price at the time you ordered. Did you negotiate a price or you placed the order without negotiating a sale price?
You are better losing the $500 and finding a dealer willing to sell below invoice if your dealer doesnt treat you well.
Hi everyone! New to this forum and I’ve read quite a few of your posts and have some questions based off what I’ve read. Sorry if I’m asking a question that was already asked.
I placed a deposit for the purchase of a ‘22 Jeep Grand Cherokee L at the beginning of the year (01/07/22 to be exact) and I’ve since received a VIN number for it.
Sortof. You may have heard people talking about "Jeep Chat," which is their online customer service chat. You can access it by clicking the "Chat" button during US business hours here: https://fcacommunity.force.com/Jeep/s/knowledge. They will give you some canned responses, which you can sort of correlate to the build status. You will probably have to find someone's update in this thread to an a better idea of what I mean. Unfortunately, Jeep customer service cannot give you the build status codes. For the actual status code of your vehicle, you will have to talk with your dealer. Here is a list of the status codes which FCA/Jeep uses: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/build-status-codes-and-sequence.17771/My dealer informed me that it probably won’t arrive until April but it could possibly get here earlier. I’m not holding my breath but I know other vehicle companies (such as Ford) have ways to get updates that show the estimated arrival date and what stage it’s on. Does jeep have a way to monitor that outside of reaching out to the dealer every time?
Did you get the offroad package? I'll be looking for somebody with the offroad package after I get my SR so I can see how hard it would be to put the skid plates on@GCL Summit Aaron Welcome! I’m new as well and can’t wait to take delivery of my L.
To help with the timing of recent here’s my info:
I was pretty surprised as I didn’t expect to see completion until end of February or at least 2 months from order like your dealer is saying about yours but they moved quickly on the build.
- Placed my GCL Overland order on 12/21
- Notice of VIN creation on 12/22
- Status update (intended completion 1/20) on 1/10
- Completed notification on 1/19
- Delivery target to be firmed up once it’s loaded on rail
Most likely you wont find a matching offer, 8.5% below invoice, is quite a steep discount considering the market.I am going for a lease and I am agreed to get a 8.5% discount on invoice price as sale price. So I am not sure if it’s worth fighting with them since I can’t find a matching offer anywhere near.
No I didn’t. Just the 2 technology packages. Almost added the passenger screen for fun but salesman talked me out of it.Did you get the offroad package? I'll be looking for somebody with the offroad package after I get my SR so I can see how hard it would be to put the skid plates on
Mine has been moving much faster than the Dealer said….but, I get they have to be conservative.2022 GCL Limited 4x4
I don't have a shipping ETA yet, but I'm hoping approximately 2-3 weeks based upon others.
- Ordered 12/21/21
- VIN received 12/22/21
- Gathering parts 1/4/22
- All parts are gathered and build scheduled 1/10/22
- Trim Stage 1/19/22
- Vehicle complete and in shipping stage 1/20/22
- Window Sticker available 1/21/22
- https://www.chrysler.com/hostd/windowsticker/getWindowStickerPdf.do?vin=
- Add your VIN to the end after the '=' if you want to see if yours is available. It won't become available until after the build is complete.
I've got it coming, and I'm interested in it, but realistically it won't get much use and I probably would not have gotten it had I had the option... But maybe I'll keep a firestick in the car for when I'm waiting for walmart grocery pickup...No I didn’t. Just the 2 technology packages. I think they are moving a lot faster now than when I ordered mine, possibly because there were so many backorders placed for '22's before they were actually building '22's... But, I was in D1 for close to a month...Mine has been moving much faster than the Dealer said….but, I get they have to be conservative.
1/11 - ordered at Dealer and got VON
1/13 - Got VIN
1/14 - All materials needed to start the build are being gathered
1/19 - All materials needed to start the build have been received. The vehicle should be entering the build process soon.
1/21 - The Jeep is in the scheduling phase with all parts gathered and it’s waiting for the build to begin. At this time we do not have an estimate and I’d recommend checking back in three to four weeks for an update.
1/21 - Sent email to the dealer looking for an update.
HA! Interesting. My sales guy has a similar 21 Limited build/color I built. I was able to add the second screen and the black appearance package to my 22 Limited build, but, he did talk me out of the black step/running boards. He said less than 1% of orders add that, so, he talked me out of it. I hope I don’t regret it.I've got it coming, and I'm interested in it, but realistically it won't get much use and I probably would not have gotten it had I had the option... I am not sure I understand the reason he provided. Was this from a resale perspective he recommended against the side steps, or some other reason?HA! Interesting. Just that there are not that many people who add that option.I am not sure I understand the reason he provided. Was this from a resale perspective he recommended against the side steps, or some other reason?
Honestly my 2019 GC is "Sangria", which I've yet to see anybody else have, and my dealer had never seen it before. I really liked that... I had to get Black this time because the only other option was two tone on the Summit Reserve which I'm not a fan of. But I would have preferred something less normal.Just that there are not that many people who add that option.
Thank you for the info! I ended up reaching out to Jeep Chat and this was their response:Congrats, and welcome!

(There might be a post on this forum, but I am not sure where.)
If you have a VIN, your order is in "D" and it progresses down the list. For example, mine was in D1 earlier this week and today is was in "F." Rather than give the status code, Jeep Chat told me that my vehicle was "being painted" today and would start being assebled soon. I didn't bother my dealer because with that information it was enough for me to correlate the status and see where it is in order of steps. In my opinion, the actual codes are more cryptic and not really needed. If you end up in a spot where things aren't progressing, they won't make it any clearer as to what is happening and will just become a source of frustration. "KZ" is the final status you are looking to get to though.
See, hearing about orders like these gives me a lot of hope. When you first placed the order, did the dealer ever tell you when you'd be getting yours by? Also, did you obtain all that info straight from your dealer, or did you contact Jeep Chat?@GCL Summit Aaron Welcome! I’m new as well and can’t wait to take delivery of my L.

I got the Summit 4x4 with the V8 but the dealer never gave me an option for the offroad package for some reason. I don't think it's offered for the Summit or SR, but maybe that just had to do with availability during the time of my order.Did you get the offroad package? As far as I know, it's not available to order on any trim level right now. If it is/was then it would be available on Overland trims. Unfortunately, Summit and Summit Reserve don't get the off-road package as option.I got the Summit 4x4 with the V8 but the dealer never gave me an option for the offroad package for some reason.
